TBParts Vintage Z50 versus CRF50 88cc Class Confirmed for 2012 GEICO MiniMotoSX
Back to the roots of Minibike racing
Irvine, CA. (February 7, 2012) Most active Minibike racers got their start on either the Z50 or Honda XR/CRF50 so they are considered by many to be the roots of Minibike racing. TBParts.com has been in business for over 15 years and still sells a lot of parts to people that enjoy riding and racing the “older”, smaller bikes so they have stepped up to sponsor the classic classes for 2012. Each class will be limited to just 10 entries on a first come first served basis so if you are interested in racing at the biggest MiniBike race in the world, you better act quickly.

You can get the complete rules here: 2012 MiniMotoSX Rules

Entries are NOW OPEN and are available here: 2012 MiniMotoSX Entry Form

Make your plans stick around in Vegas during the Monster Energy AMA Supercross weekend to get on the track yourself and race for an AMA #1 plate. You can find race entry and event info at www.minimotosx.com. Ticket information: http://www.orleansarena.com/event-calendar/mini-moto-2012

Pitster and Braaap tried making this a seperate class last year (10" super stock) and only had 5-6 people sign up for this class. Im think it was because not many people knew about it leading up to the race. I was signed up to race a completely stock Pitster Pro XJR90SS which is 88cc but because there were only a few in this class they threw us in with the 10" stock/mod and I was extremely under powered against the 2up bikes. I hope more people sign up for this class and keep it going, it is a great class to get into without having to spend to much money.

I didnt think they were running this class again this year so I am in the middle of rebuilding my XJR-SS to compete in the 10 stock/mod class. Watch out 2up! Haha... Just joking, 2up has owned this class and I just want my fair shot at those guys.

So it wasn't just my entree it will be 2 entrees for Kyle Engle, 3 entrees for Jake Osborne, 2 entrees for Login Pickering, & 2 entrees for Tatum Sik,,, so sometimes it isn't a clear picture about how a class effects the event,, because sometimes decisions are made that aren't clear on how decisions are being made,, this is what makes Marketing so difficult sometimes. So add an additional $900 in entrees plus the $100 for my class in the 8" vintage class,, not a bad ROE; 1 person decides to come to the event and this action doesn't add $100 to the pot but rather another $1000.

So Thank you Becky for changing around my 2012,, I was a little bummed when the 8" class was dropped out of the race and that I wasn't going to be coming out to the event,, but now I get to load up the 10 bikes and enjoy a good day of racing in Las Vegas Nevada for another year! Luv ya! :)

NOTE: The above rules says that you may not use the Aluminum frame on the Z50 class but doesn't say anything about the CRF88 class not being able to use the Aluminum frames,, but I would send an email to Becky to make sure they didn't forget to put that same bit of information on the CRF rules as they did on the Z50 rules.

nice now i have to see if i can make it!! my 88cc motor sat since CHP Race in 08......... and i would love to line up with a gate full of 88cc bikes!!~! AGAIN :) ben wishing for this class in Vegas for years!!!!!!!
I hear ya,, this is probably the biggest class it only MiniMotosx would have created it because the cost is low,, and the 88c bikes just make riding a mini fun again! Most under rated class out there in my opinion.
