1971 Honda CL70 Replacement Switch and Throttle Assembly

Hello,
I am new to posting on forums. My name is Will and I own a 1971 Honda CL70 that was brought back from Vietnam from a Vet during the war. This is my first time restoring a motorcycle from the transmission up, and everything has been going quite smooth for the most part. Unfortunately, the original handlebars had some damage around the base where the wiring comes out. As much as I love the OEM design, I had to resort to getting new handlebars. I found a nice looking set on ebay that included the switch, clutch, and brake assembly. When I put everything together, upon testing the brake, the cheap chinesium metal attaching the brake handle to the switch assembly broke. I have been scouring the internet trying to find a better replacement, but it seems that for the most part, all you can buy is the same or similar chinesium assembly. I do not know enough about motorcycles to venture out and try parts for different bikes, so I was hoping someone could help me find a solid replacement. I was thinking that I might be able to use the OEM switch assembly with a different throttle assembly but I am not sure. Below I will attach some Images of the issues I have run into. Thank you to anyone who can provide some insight.
