Rescued from underneath a crusty tarp in a friend's backyard. It was his first bike when he was 5 years old. When I discovered it, it hadn't run in 15 years. Tore it apart in one hour and got it running the very next day. Budget build.. invested about $100 total to bring her back to life.
1983 Honda Z50R (Lobster Red)
Swapped the 6v motor for a newer 12v stock unit.
Chrome China tank. Zip tie fender stitches. Bobbed rear fender. The brittle, faded, original number plates still sport some 20+ y/o vinyl #5 stickers.
Stock shocks with two and a half decades of rusty goodness.
Wheel and Tire
Filled the flat front tire up to see if it would hold air. It did for about 45 seconds, then BOOM! The rusted out rim split nearly all the way around. (The original inner tube never leaked one bit.) Swapped them both out for a newer set of stock Z50R wheels I had lying around.
