taky vs TB 88 kit???

ino ino ino ive strarted a few threads lately but its just a hard choice and i never seem to get an answer only ppl saying like 3 words which doesnt help me out one bit

im looking at either of these what do you thinks better??? also how much power do the kitaco and tb and taky kits make without the head just useing the stock head???? and are the kitaco and taky faster then the TB kits???

wat HP for taky 88 "S" stage kit??? ...STOCK HEAD...
wat HP for TB 88 kit??? ...STOCK HEAD...
wat HP kitaco 88 kit??? ...STOCK HEAD...

and is the TB race head kit much faster then all the 88 stock head kits i said above???
Whats the HP on a TB 88 race head kit approximatly???

also whats the difference between the kitaco light bore kit and just the kitaco bore kit??? both 88's???

ino the kitaco and taky will be better quality and probly more reliable then the TB but im not after the best racing machine i just want somthing to get my 240 pound ass around on.im in more after whats better value for money$$$

i dont wanna spend anymore then the kitaco and taky 88 limited ktis are worth so i could get the TB race head kit for the money but is it better to get the taky or kitaco???

thank you again

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

All the stock head kits are 4-5hp, maybe 6 with an FMF and TB carb, cam.
The stock head sucks, and it doesn't matter what jug is propping it up.

TB88 race head is 8hp-ish, with carb, pipe, etc. This will be faster than any of the stock head kits.

A China 86/107 crank, 107 alloy jug, e22 head would be cheaper, and make more power and way more torque, but we've discussed that...

A bolt-in Jialing/GPX 125 will be a much nicer combo for a larger rider. 4 gears, more torque, and tons of build options. Add a domed piston and you'll run from a 3 speed 88 race head with a similar sized lump on the seat.

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

Oh, and 88 kits are BS. Watch the case to spigot contact closely, if you go that route. Honda case bores are often not lined up right for an 88 sleeve, and when they get forced on, the whisper thin spigot gets distorted and scuffs the piston skirt. Still will run, but there's extra drag that shouldn't be. Usually the intake/top, where there's less oil flung. I always mock up the topend with no rings and turn the crank by hand. ANY binding needs to be addressed. You can hang the engine, topend-down from the peg bar in a vice and scrape the offending area with a utility knife, if you don't wanna bore the cases. Even the overhanging center gasket can cause a bind.

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

No sweat. You can add a better head and matching piston later, if you wanna upgrade. Ok, WHEN you wanna upgrade New e22's are $75 or so, and add a $50 piston, $10 gaskets, you'll be up 30-50% in power.

That poor little bike will be a lot faster if you lay off the deep-fried Wallaby and Fosters

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

6hp isn't out of the question. Watch the piston to head clearance, and shoot for no more than .75mm to get all the squeeze you can. The TB piston is domed a tiny bit, and helps, plus the kit's cheaper.

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

i would stay with TB for there complete race head 88 kits, if you solely want an 88 bore go to DrATV OPERATES HERE and pick up the complete kit for 99 dollars. his parts are good and all the 88 kits will last just as long

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

Nope. Piston for the race head is domed, and won't clear the 50 head.

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

Yeah, you can swap the rac-ier head and matching piston later. The 50 head piston would suck if used with a better head, no compression.

Re: taky vs TB 88 kit???

If you go with a Takegawa or Kitaco Bore up kit without the head it's almost a waste because your spending $200-$250 and with the TB race head kit your spending about $360.I wasn't very happy with the stock head option i took and ended up spending alot more to get the kit i should have in the first place. The bore up with a better cam and bigger carb and pipe only gave me 5.5hp and everyone kicked my a**,i could'nt even keep up with them.
