Is the SSR Alum Frame Decent Quality Need Advise This is my first post. I want to upgrade an XR50 with a new frame. I noticed an SSR Alum frame on ebay for $475. It included forks, disk brakes wheels. I was planning on changing the engine over. Is this a decent frame? I really dont have much more cash to spend for anything higher end. Any help would be appreciated. Tim Charlotte, NC

Re: Is the SSR Alum Frame Decent Quality Need Advise From what i've heard its an good all aroundframe but it does have some issues with cracking near the steering stem tube. The forks are great though i just installed a set on my 50 and they're a real nice performing set of forks. There was a post not too long ago on this. Search up ssr frame.

Re: Is the SSR Alum Frame Decent Quality Need Advise I agree I have used both of these frames.I recently sold my bike w/the five0 frame.Never had any issues out of either.but I am sure for average riding/racing the SSR can hold up.

Re: Is the SSR Alum Frame Decent Quality Need Advise its good for 500 dollar roller. id buy in fact im planning on it i think unless something better comes along at the right time. as far as five-o and fast 50s go they are really good but you'll be luck to get a frame and swinger for 500 of those brands. if you go used you wil be able to get them but for sure no forks and wheels id go with ssr or save your money. you may be able to get a frame/swinger/sp5s for 600 but you'll have to be patient

If your talking about the frame that comes on the SSR X3 i think its a great frame. It looks good, its light, and has held up great! | |
