Pitster light kit on my crf50

I thnk it looks pretty cool. What do you guys think? I want to redo the wiring as of right now it's all over the place and need to fab something up to correct the angle of the signals, but I couldn't wait for all that and had to take it out for a test ride!

I would like to give props to josh302 for helping me get this kit all wired up! Couldn't have done it without his help.

On low beam settings the lights are completely OFF e.g. headlights, tail lights; however, when you depress the brake switch the brake lights come ON and all signals work. On high beam settings both lights low and high come ON and all lights work e.g. tail lights, brake lights, etc...

Btw... does anyone know a good way to add a front brake light switch (drum setup)? I want the brake lights to turn ON when I use the front brake instead of the rear brake.

Thanks,

Eddie

Looks good. Actually, your bike looks like a Pitster Motard now.

you need a front brake hand lever that has a micro switch built in. I dont know where to get them, I'll look in the parts unlimited book and see what I can find.

How are the lights compared to your baja kit? Brightness?

You need a micro switch. Have a look on this page under "Brake switch alternative - Front brakes"

Thanks josh032. I haven't done any night riding so I can't say. Do cars flash you when your riding at night?

Thanks steve, is this what your talking about? That looks like the ticket.

Anyone have a better write up somewhere on how to do this?

Thanks Mike, this kit will eventually go on my other 50. I transfered the baja kit over to that one so I could pass inspection, lol.

Thanks 3-UP. The baja kit does give it a nice motard look, but not as nice as the jdm xr50 light kit. This kit makes it look more of a street fighter which I like too. But dun worry it's coming off soon.

Re: Pitster light kit on my crf50

Your gonna have to maybe mix and match....example...

eBay Motors: honda elite 50 spree switch lever hand control 80 150 (item 360050738212 end time May-15-08 1421 PDT)

That would work for your front brake.

Re: Pitster light kit on my crf50

Eddie, I'll check my big bike and see how exactly the micro switch is mounted. It might be really easy to do.
