| head to piston clearance i have a stock xr70 motor i am putting a 88 kit in,ported e22 head ,i noticed it a bunch of shims between cyl and case, do i use those with my new kit ?? also how do you check head to piston clearance?? thanks in advance skip ![]() |

| Re: head to piston clearance Can you measure the old piston, pin hole to top edge? Sounds like a 6v piston on the 12v rod, for the big dome? Shim thickness? Pics of piston and shims? Shouldn't need any spacers/shims. |

| Re: head to piston clearance i believe those shims your thinking of are just the stock head gasket???? its almost like 3 seperate metal plates (very thin) |

| Re: head to piston clearance Yeah i checked it was the head gasket, it looked like shims for adjusting head height, i guess i will assemble with the gaskets they gave me and i should be alright, thanks for your help guys skip |
