Question Drive line lash

I have been noticing a lot of drive line lash in my 50. It was not so bad when I first got it (used 05 child ridden), but ever since I've been using it to stunt with it seems to be increasing. I'm 185lbs and have been doing a lot of wheelie practice.

Could it be a worn out clutch? If so what clutch do you recommend to keep this from reoccurring?

Re: Drive line lash

Not chain lash. More in the drive line/clutch. Feels like a lag in engine revs to clutch engagement. Like a delay when you hit the gas to when the bike moves and there's a chug feeling when the clutch finally hooks up.
I think the clutch is on it's way out and want to know what everyone is using for a replacement to keep this from happening again?

Re: Drive line lash

either buy a TB heavy duty clutch for 70 or just adjust the stock one

Re: Drive line lash

Can you adjust the lag out of the clutch engagement?

Re: Drive line lash

I don't think there is any way to adjust lag out of the clutch. But here is how to adjust it. Are you sure your chain isn't just really loose?

Re: Drive line lash

The chain is OK. Nice video. I think it's the clutch itself that has some play in it and does not instantly engage?

Re: Drive line lash

I had that problem. I took apart my clutch and changed the friction plates and steels. I also installed BBR HD clutch springs. Works way better.

Try adjusting your clutch first though.

Re: Drive line lash

What did you replace the plates and steels with, and how much were they.
