I use some gas.
It comes clean in a heart beat.
And I love to use No Toil oil.
It gets the job done good.

i clean my filter in gas first then in warm soapy water to get the grains of sand out then i rinse in fresh water and blow out with compresor or leace in sun to dry out then i buy some torco spray on filter oil and cover it in that and give it a little squish around a bit

Re: Cleaning and oiling UNI filter

It all depends on which type of filter oil you use on your filter. If you use the Bio-Degradable type like No-Toil. You can wash it in your kitchen sink with dish detergent. That is basically what No-Toil gives you for cleaner, its kinda like powdered laundry soap. But if you used a petroleum based air filter oil like Klotz foam filter oil, you will need to clean it in a parts washer, or with gasoline or kerosene.

Okay, this is probably gunna sound real dumb but since this is my first pit bike dont judge me. Do you need to oil a pit bike filter? i have a uni on my bike and it has 2 layers so do you oil the under layer? cause i would never even think of bringing my CR125 to the track with a dry filter

Re: Cleaning and oiling UNI filter

I think you answered your question yourself. Yes you oil the filter, As far as a 2 piece, like a Uni for a Crf50, I clean both filters, but I only oil the outer filter.

How much oil are you putting on it? If you have the spray, just spray some on it, then work it through so its even. You can put it in a plastic bag or wear rubber gloves to keep you hands clean. And how far does your air filter stick out?

Hose it down,
Simple Green,
Rinse,
Hang Dry or squeeze or air blow
Mineral Oil.

This methood worked for me forrever on both big bikes and minis without a single problem. I dont even use a prefilter on my mini either and the dirt never gets through.
