Cycles!128 update!

Hey all!
As we gear up for the big event here at Cycles!128, we decided that we are going to take the opportunity for everyone to give back to the community and show that we bike riders, aka "bikies" (to the undereducated non motorcycle enthusiast), care and love to help the world. So, we decided to do a canned food drive!
This gives you all the chance to show everyone at home and the country that we're not all deadbeats. Also-it gives you the chance to get rid of all those cans of food that mother bought that you will never eat!
In exchange, not only are you helping others and making yourselves feel way cool, you will be rewarded with raffle tickets toward some great prizes! And, all of your pitcrew members and spectators alike can, and are invited to participate! We are currently begging for and gathering all kinds of great prizes so stay tuned!

Re: Cycles!128 update!

Clarify a little tiger..

Are you looking to have a canned food drive? Or a returnables drive? Both are often called "can drives".

Canned food: Ravioli, peas, corn, etc. etc.

Returnables: The $38 worth of empty soda bottles that are currently littering my back seat.

ahhh,good point!!

canned food is our plan!

we hope to have a good response to this. we do understand that things are tight for everyone, but for some folks, things are really tight.we want to make an impact from a fresh group.with all the big street bike rallies for cancer, memorial rides etc,we know motorcyclists are a charitable group. So we want to try to do something different that will mean alot to others hurting.
so there has been a lot of readers to this post but not many replies to show support!?! how about it?

Re: Cycles!128 update!

Please post the actual address of this event so I can put it in my GPS so I dont get lost. How far past NYC is it?

Oh and we will bring some cans both food and beer. Food for the less fortunate, beer for us more privalidged.

Re: Cycles!128 update!

what we are doing, starting today actually is to do it in cement.the hill is so steep that we couldnt get a paver to touch it for less than $2500.
estimates were 2500-4500! all hand work.way out of my budget for a once a year event unfortunately.going to kind of duplicate the way it ended up last year w/a little kicker jump at the top.not sure if the whole hill will be cemented, the bottom is really hard already. working on things daily! looking fwd to it again this year!!

Do what you think will help in being Preventative against Issues

Our guys on our Team run Catch cans on the street as all of us have Motard only bikes..its a good Idea wish everyone would do something prevents possible gas spills
