Angry This is why you dont let friends ride your bike...

So i took one of my friends out dirt bike riding for the first time, and I let him ride my CR/XR conversion while i rode my yz250f. One his third lap he looped the bike on the landing of one of the tabletops and this is what happened:

so far it looks like it will need new exhaust (which was custom made and will be a bitch to replace), subframe, seat, rear fender, and side panels.

**** happens

If you are worried about someone wreaking your stuff at all then don't loan it out. It sucks when it happens but if he at least tries to help then chaulk it up as a lesson and think nothing else of it.

Re: This is why you dont let friends ride your bike...

I think making him pay for it is a good way to look like a dick. No offense but if he can't pay anything then you are out no matter what. You did LET him ride it. Now if he was being a jackass and doing stupid stuff that was over his head is another issue, but why would you let someone like that borrow a bike anyway. Requesting money is one thing, but if he offers to pay some or at least help work on stuff take it.

make him pay for it and dont take him her riding ever again. Or if for some reason you do start them off in a feild and wrap them in bubble tape.

Re: This is why you dont let friends ride your bike...

Any one who rides and of my stuff, I tell them straight up... "you break it you buy it!" If they dont agree with it the its time for them to get off! Its not you (or me) being a d!ck its you (or me) not wanting to spend the money for some one else being an idiot. Now everyone I tell that to has experience on bikes/ski's/what ever, and if they dont have experience (and I am usually teaching them) I wont get mad/or make them pay if they break something because that is part of learning!
(And if I ride some one elses stuff I tell them "If I break something I will buy you a new one!" and I have held true to my word every time!)
