| Alright so there's been some things stolen in this guy's garage a few stalls down from me. People can just climb into the rafters and snoop around in whosever stall they want. I extended one of my walls all the way to the roof. The other side is still open for now (not as worried about those people, still paranoid as hell though). So I want to step it up a bit since I have way too many dollars worth of mini parts sitting in there. I'm not real up to speed when it comes to these deals so; what would be a decent surveillance camera setup? Keep in mind that I would be trying to say on the cheaper side but; there's 4 dirt bikes and how much in mini parts - I would be willing to pay to protect that stuff. Thank you!! |

| Re: Surveillance cameras???? Cheapest way to get it done right... get like a $300 setup from Tiger Direct w/ 4 outdoor, night vision camera's. Then hook them up to a DVR and record to DVD. Have to check it often.... but hey, peace of mind for like $500. You can get the webcam ones too for cheap, but they are flimsy. Lot of options though.

| Re: Surveillance cameras???? I would be cool with $500. I really wouldn't want to spend much more than that though. Checking it often wouldn't be a real big deal since I'm in my garage a min. of 2 hours per day. Missing things shouldn't be too hard to notice. Thanks for the replies. |

| Re: Surveillance cameras???? x10 stuff is not high end but works. I can view my pArents property/house online from anywhere with an online connection, I can change camera angles online, it records to DVD or VCR or computer hard drive. Cost=a few hundred |

| Re: Surveillance cameras???? I got all I need. A gate that rattles when hopped over or opened, motion sensor lights, a rusty garadge door hinge that creeks when opened which also hits the metal net on the b-ball rim, and a barking dog. You got to be deaf to sleep through all of that. And not to mention there is always someone in the house 24/7 (night shift/ day shift jobs) and a car is always parked in the driveway blocking anyone trying to push the bike out. But it wouldnt hurt to have a surveillance cam |

| Re: Surveillance cameras???? Not sure if you have Fry's Electronics out there but I'm sure they have a website. I had a car keyed at my old house and installed video cameras around my house, they had great night vision and recorded either to a computer or VHS. Spent about a grand on them though. |

| Re: Surveillance cameras???? Haaa. Tack a few up in the rafter, in the probable hand-hold locations. Should be fun. I bought a small $25 nightvision cam that came with a 50' cord. Works great. Plugs in to the VCR, or whatever. If you wanna catch them instead of mop them up in the morning |

Now do get me wrong... one raised by the wrong person and it will be a serious 'machine' but in normal loving hand they are hands down the best! Unless you want something fluffy. | |
