Pitster Info Please....

Hey guys just wondering when I swap my oil in my 2008 X4R (160cc) would I use synthetic and how much would I put in?

Also having all kinds of problems with bolts and nuts coming loose any ideas where I can get extra bolts and nuts without having to order them from Pitster?

Should I be Locktiten' the whole bike over winter time? Or should I be adding lock washers on to the bolts that don't have any?

One more thing bike is not running 100% Don't get me wrong the thing is a freakin rocket but I am getting boggyness at higher rpm levels in all gears any answers why this might be happening? Any ideas what jet sizes my bike comes with stock? Any ideas on what might work better for jet sizes in Toronto, Ontario Canada area/ weather/ alt. level etc.

Thanks

Caelan

yes you should be puting loctite on all your bolts and checking them often like with every bike. do not use synthetic oil it makes the clutch slip. just go up on the main for the jet

What does your spark plug look like?

I locktite every bolt on my when I get a new pit bike. Blue is the best holds and won't lock them in forever.

Re: Pitster Info Please....

synthetic is fine, as long as it is motorcycle specific. Don't run car oil. They take just under a quart.

Just under a quart?? Your thinking stock honda 50. Should be one quart or 1000cc or 1000ml

Use a little less than a quart and use 20w50, these engines run hot.

You should locktite every nut and bolt before you ride your pitster and continue checking them!!!

I use RED locktitie and havent had any problems getting bolts back out. because they still vibrate loose.

Re: Pitster Info Please....

You should only be using Red loctite on larger bolts, and where you plan to use heat to remove them. Blue is for smaller bolts, purple for the real fiddily stuff, no heat needed to remove either.

Use Rotella oil. It has no addatives so your clutch won't slip and its cheap.

Re: Pitster Info Please....

I got a pitster x4r, i hate it.. If you want it to run primo, you got to buy a vm26 carb, that will bring it to life..its a little pricey but its well worth the money..i dont think those knockoff mikuni carbs work at all.

Re: Pitster Info Please....

When its bogging on the top end, for some reason those carbs are shooting gas out of the intake..i called pitster, they had no answer, i tried everything and the only thing that worked was buy the new vm 26 carb...

Woow what very, very good idea! That will definately solve to problem for everyone

By the way, same problem here.. Same with the bolts coming loose.. same with the engine not running perfect at high rpm.. same with the bogging and throwing out fuel..

But just like KTM22 said.. Every bike needs maintenance and check ups..
but on the other side.. This shouldnt happen to so many bikes of the same type an which are not even older than a week..

Re: Pitster Info Please....

yeah i hate it that all the bolts come loose, i lock tited them all after they all fell out..but that stock carb will never work if ur running it hard. that new one made that bike rip so much harder..and did u notice the stock carb is a 26mm stamped as a 24mm? lol and the jets are stamped wrong too..even the service manager at pitster told me the jets werent what they said..my advice is the carb. its the shiz
has anybody noticed the wheels are hollow? i waffled 3 front wheels already and bbr rims dont fit the spoke pattern, their wheels are getting expensive
