Exclamation No more scratched up rims

If I don't have to worry about scratching the rim; a normal tire change will be 5 - 8 mins.

This time it took me about 15 - 20 mins. It didn't help that my tire was cold so I had to use a heat gun to warm er' up.

This is Coletrain01's 12'' BBR front 50 wheel that I built tonight.

Any blemish that you see is either from a smudge on the rim or more than likely, baby powder.

Those rim protectors sure do help. I'm not going to say what I did to them though. Everyone could change their own tires and my skill would be a waste.

Millvilles are great for big bikes, for minis they are the worst tires you can buy besides the shinko's IMO

I you're riding sand and mud all the time they're fine, but the second that those knobs hit any hardpack they rip apart. Had one on the rear of my old CR250 and it was destroyed within an hour of riding on a hardpack track. One on the front of my mini that lasted a couple days on a hardpack track.
Great for soft stuff though

Re: No more scratched up rims

Millville tires suck, whether on big bikes or minis. I've actually ran them at the actual track and they were horrible.

The best set-up (for Millville anyways) is Bridgestone m404 in the rear and m201 in the front.

Yes/no. I don't think there's a ton of people who can do it with tire irons. Dealers usually use a machine.

Sounds like you need to find yourself a big black Sharpie marker. Makes them look 2 days ago in about 30 seconds.

I might just make a video for everyone to see the correct way to change a tire

Let's see what it looks like.

Damn haters; I guess I'll have to switch out the Kenda's for Michelin MH3's or MS2's. Which do you guys dislike the most?

Re: No more scratched up rims

the ms2's are a excellent tire. the mh3 isnt a whole lot different, just made for a harder pack and a little shorter knobies

Re: No more scratched up rims

dude all it is, is 3m paint protection film. I gave brad (50$pit) a huge ass chunk of it when I saw him in vegas. Not sure if he ever used it. But you lace the wheel with 1/2 strips and then pull them off once your done what you need to do.

sounds like it would work pretty well.

I did a 10'' MH3 a couple hours ago. Damn, that 12'' (changed that to a MS2) was too easy. You have to work a bit harder but, no scratches on the 10'' either.
