Ncc?

Does anyone know what happened to the guys at NCC? I've been dealing with Matt over there and now they don't answer phones or return emails. They have been sitting on a pricey engine that I already paid for in full over five months ago. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, nice to meet you too.

I don't know their faces, wish I could've had a chance to say howdy. Didn't know who I was looking for.

Re: Ncc?

I wrote this in another thread but brought it here to drive the point home. I can't believe you've waited that long for a motor? I'm not saying it's not true but I wondering what the rest of the story is? Either on your side or NCC's? They GAVE me parts on my word alone when i had a motor failure and that's bitchin' if you ask me. No I'm not sponsored by them and have never met them just PM's in here. My motor was sent in record time and I was pleasantly surprised at what NCC had done to the motor after they received it from the OEM. Just one Nutcases story and I hope it eases your mind a little.

This story has to be told. I have been having major problems with my YX150. After chasin' the problem from one end of the motor to the other I believe I'd found the problem. It wasn't the motor I concluded it was the angle of the carb on the motor. The angle was so severe that the float never stopped the flow of fuel into it once the bowl was full. Well I crafted a spacer that re-angled the intake and in turn the carb. The bowl in the end was almost flat. This trial by fire took quite some time to muddle through. When I was done I was tired and here in south Georgia the heat and humidity were killing me. I decided to push start the bike instead of kick it. After a couple try's I was really wasted so I started kick-starting. This was when I noticed a whoosing sound and no back pressure when I kicked. I had a huge sinking feeling. I checked the plug to see if it was not in place and that was the leak. Nope it was tight. So I pulled the plug and the ceramic end was cracked off and the electrode was smashed into the led. Dread was weighing on my shoulders now. So pull the head and....$%#*&!!*& The exhaust valve had snapped off. It looks like the valve stuck open and the piston smacked into it There was a nice round mark on the piston. I think it bent then I beat the hell out of it still trying to start the bike. Well I had less than 5 minutes run time on the motor and I was dead on funds to replace the parts. Now the smokin', totally killer, I can't believe a dealer is this good part. I contacted NCC and told them the problem. I asked for a little help and not believing a dealer would give me a deal on parts I felt a full price discussion was on the way. Like I said fundage was low so I asked about buying good used takeoff parts. Well NCC was having none of that and told me they were replacing the parts for "FREE!" Seven days later I got the parts and they're cherry! If you need something and you go somewhere else shame on yeah. These guys stand right behind their products not way behind or off to the side like some dealers. NCC I'll be back

Re: Ncc?

This engine issue has been taken care of, we started a one off build, for an atc(I even fabbed the pull start to work on the GPX) , then we developed new products and were asked to add them to this build, then sent it out, then it was sent back to add more to it.We shipped it the day we left to Utah, unfortunatly it had taken too long to deliver and we were out until this week, but all is good now.
i want to clarify, We are not some big business, just me and my sons, we do not have hundreds of products mass produced , we make them oursleves, we also build complete bikes, engines (including our own BBKs, 6 disc clutch, case savers, gpx fork-klx110,rear -klx 110 suspension, fender braces, pipe adaptors, and much more)along with servicing Pitster pro customers, warranty issues, making one off parts that no one offers, testing, developing new products, load testing engines, going to local and national events to help all of the above. We have expierienced a tremendous growth and demand and are working on steps to address our short commings and make things better in the future. If we missed you, or lost your order or basically screwed up,email me and I will try to make things right. to those that have give support and kind words thank you, Matt

Re: Ncc?

a biggs is there a specific problem your worried about? The yx engine has held up well.

I understand the fustration people feel with NCC, it comes down to Matt (owner) is a fabricator, builder, not good at the administrative. He'll get it worked out, if someone takes care of the ordering, shipping and scheduling and let's Matt work in the shop they'll be back on their game.

I want people to know in my own experience dealing with NCC no matter how late or lost my order got did I feel that Matt didn't care. He went to the shop took apart the motor in his own bike and shipped me parts, he was told earlier in the day that his leg was broken and to stay off it.

Re: Ncc?

Well here we are a week after he said "the my motor issue has been taken care of" and it has not been. I still have nothing. Normally I don't come on these forums to complain. Normally I'm just a lurker. I just wanted to post my experience to hopefully help someone else out. Because it looks like I'm out about $1300. I would never buy anything from this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone. I'm speaking just from personal experience. And let me touch on some of Matts comments. The excuse he used about me using some of his new products as why it had taken so long is B.S. The reason I chose to "upgrade" things was because it was taking so long to build my original order that I figured since he hadn't even started the build why not upgrade my order to more current items. Believe me even if I wouldn't have been "upgrading" I would still be in the same prediciment. Also as far as fabbing the pull start goes, tack welding the pull start cage to the flywheel didn't take a whole lot of time. I could have done that. I was under the impression he was going to do a lot of machining to get it to work. Wrong!!! So after placing the order in April I have to admit I did finally get my order in June after a whole lot of exscuses. I go to install the motor and I notice my port and polish was not done. I was a little upset but I know stuff happens so I try to stay cool and let him make it right. I email a couple times (with no response back) and after a week or two he contacts me back to ship the motor back so he can swap out the wrong cyl. with the right one. He said he had the part on the bench and turn around would be one day and he would ship it back the next day. Well I shipped it to him July 7th. and it's been over a month now and nothing. I emailed him Monday and told him I wanted a full refund and it's now Wed. I haven't received response from him. Matt I'm sorry you are swampped but you should give your priority attention to those of us that have had an order with you for almost six months. Or at least respond to your emails or answer your phone or clear your messages off your answering machine. Because with me being CA. and you in Neb. it's a little hard to go to your shop. But I guess it's my fault I should have only dealt with a local reputable builder in SoCal. Sorry for the long winded post just wanted to warn others.

Re: Ncc?

When my little problem occurred Matt informed me he would be sending the parts ASAP and he did. He didn't tell me he sent them they just showed up. After 2 orders with him and both coming the same way I have come to the conclusion that he's running his behind off. He probably got my stuff together and ran it by the post on his way somewhere else or he had someone run it for him end of story. Remembering to sit down on a Puter and tell me he sent the parts was not high on his list because he had taken care of it.

Not knowing me from Adam he also told me he was a little frustrated about another customer who had wrecked a motor and was trying to claim it was NCC's fault and he was trying to handle the problem...let us say nicely. Why did he tell me??? Dunno I think he see's someone trying to NCC and he was pissed and I was there to say something to nothing more nothing less. Did he say who it was no. Do I know who it is no.

But I do know that building a "special" can take a very long time. I don't care if it is just one of these Chinese Special's. If you're just throwing parts into or on a motor that kind of special can hum right along. If it's a one-off parts special sit back and relax it's going to be a minute. For those of you not wanting to buy from NCC again sorry Matt I know this is selfish but FINE! That means when I get ready to buy more parts or have something done they have more time to spend on my toys

As I value your input I hope this part was not implied towards me. I can only assume it was because if not then it was has no bearing on my thread. And FYI I have never even fired up the engine so back off I'm that customer. I also understand that special motors take time. But when told something is to be done by a certain time and we're months past that. I don't know, it then becomes a little worrisome. My problem comes down to no communication. If you were to look a couple threads down I'm not the only one with that problem. And funny thing is Matt seems to reply to me once I post on here. And I'm glad you got your nickle and dime parts but I'm dealing with a little bit more than a $20 purchase.

Re: Ncc?

I will agree that things have gotten crazy in this fast moving industry, I did have that engine shipped ,at a UPS store1Z6WE6760394464168 (which the guy there claimed was never in there store)
, the way I found it was through frustration, I stopped a ups driver and aked if he could help in anyway, I described what had happened and what we where looking for. he took my number and called me today saying it was found.this is what I found when I drove up.

I then took it to the shop and repackaged it, then took it to a fedEx location to have it reshipped as fast as they would do it. FedEx tracking 045764110025492,

I had been in contact with the customer as often as I could ,we left town a number of times,Vegas, custom bike deliveries, races, and then we went to Utah and washington, this weekend I also was out until Yesterday late. I did /do have 99 messages on my machine I am working through. I admit we make mistakes, and screw things up, but I will try and make things right with any that have fallen through the cracks.

Re: Ncc?

ive never dealt with NCC yet but he does seem to be trying, i mean it is a small little shop with limited employess. maybe if he got a wireless internet card for a laptop so he could check his emails and pm's while he is on the go and maybe a business cell phone so he doesnt have to be at home or the office to get calls or voicemails.....
