Re: confused on clutches help!!

Although there are some guys using them for Moto X , slipper clutches are more of a road racing and Supermoto setup than MX . But slipppers do have their advantages in the dirt as well .. A slipper allows the rear wheel to spin much slower than the bike is traveling during deceleration allowing a controlled smooth slide instead of wheel hop ...

Re: confused on clutches help!!

It depends on what u like. i raced motocross for many years and im really good at getting that holeshot to the first corner. i didnt have a fast motor. and i dont weigh 90 pounds. my bike set up was perfect. my clutch set up was really tight. not too tight, but just enough to get the plates hot and slipping when needed. when U launch off the line racers use the one finger or two finger deal, thats great, it works. slippin' the clutch to not catch and flip. keepin that front tire just about a foot off the dirt.
thats my take on it. ha or u could get one of those REKLUSE automatic clutches. i heard there good. if your old and lazy.

i ran both. i found that the stock cluth baskets for my 250F didnt hold up. so i ran the HINSON basket with stock plates. it was some what cheaper cause the hison plates didnt last near as long and cost little more.
my 125, ****, i just ran would i had. wether it was used plates, new ones. i was broke, and wanted to race with whatever. it worked.
hell, haha one time i one the albany national on a fried up clutch from the start. it was bad.

Re: confused on clutches help!!

I would go with the slipper clutch. It gives it the 2 stroke feeling, epically with a mod motor like yours i bet theres a lot of deceleration. less wheel hop. Theres adjustable ones out there too, you can get just how you like it.

Re: confused on clutches help!!

in this it says the only use is on street bikes? im so confused.

the slipper clutch just eliminates engine braking right? does it stop bump starting?

and the conventional clutch just is the same rite?

yes the slipper clutch elimates most of the engine braking. but not all.
and because these little 50's and 110's run so much compression. u can still bump start them.
may i recommend if u decide to go with the slipper or conventional. get a hydraulic clutch kit. it elimates cable drag, lubing, breaking. its more reliable.
