50 on the street Yes ive searched but am still skeptical. if i run a crf50 (classified as under 50cc) and put headlight, tailight and turn signals technically i should have to register or insure it as it would fall under the moped laws correct? just curious because i used to ride a garelli 50cc moped with lights and the cops never would give you anything.

Re: 50 on the street Depends on state. I know that's true in Virginia. But you don't even need lights. Absolutely all you need is ID(not even a driver's license) and you need to be 16 or older. Also the vehicle can't exceed 30mph. But no insurance, registration, plates, inspection, fees, DMV's, lights, seat heights or any of that to deal with here.

Re: 50 on the street you still have to register and insure it if your in the state of california as a "moped" has pedals doesnt matter if your under 49cc you will also need your motorcycles license

Re: 50 on the street zbbt, that is not the case, the CRF comes from the factory as an OHV, since the new laws passed in 04 its impossible to register one as a dual sport.

Re: 50 on the street Maryland laws are funny. You could get it registered as a moped but not a scooter. Scooter cant have a shifter and must have foot position in the internal of the chassis like a vespa. But then if its a moped you have to register it vs a scooter you dont. Not to mention the fines are kinda steep for getting caught also.
