Ok so after being screwed around by my shop for the last time I told them to go shove it!

I now need a web link to any site that sells a big bore kit that will work with the NSR50.

I contacted the Athena rep and he told me the kit will bolt on with no need for aftermarket pipe, or carb (although he recommended I should do the pipe anyways for better proformance)

I would like know where and what size? am I looking for a 70cc, 73cc or 75cc??

I know they are made by Athena.

Does anyone know if the NSR motor is like the XR50 or CRF50?

Yikes! Apples and aardvarks. The NSR is a 2 stroke race machine, while the CRF50 is a recycled kiddie toy.

Ok... still my question remains, where can I get a big bore kit for the NSR50. what other kits for what bikes are compatable with the NSR50R

Only Athena makes that big of a bore kit for the NSR. No other bike has the same cylinder so you have to get one for an NSR. The kitaco one is the most common but all of them are hard to get. Ordering straight from Japan is probably the easiest and most reliable way of getting one.

Oh thanks that was part of the info I was looking at, the Athena kit is from japan? I thought it was Athena USA? I want the 70cc or 72cc kit? (not sure which one)

Unless you can find the Athena one? I have no idea were they are made.

If you go this route I have a very nice Arrow exhaust system with the 24mm keihin carb that I would like to sell.

yeah looking on the web I can't find a place that carries the Athena kit if anyone has a link to Athena big bore kits let me know

Try a Googling of NSR50 forum, and check out BARF etc. Expect to pay double what the 63cc kit costs, not be class legal, and still get smoked by CR85 swaps that cost about the same once you sell the stocker. An XR100 with a Tak stage 3 topend might be fun too, but a little pricier.

I'm not upgrading to race, my 2004 NSR50 with - NSF body kit is going to be the ONLY street legal RCV-MINI in Canada.

I live in Victoria BC and I ride the bike year round, work and back plus just riding with other sport bike riders.

Looking to put just a little more juice on the bike for when I ride on our local highways. Speed limit is 80 (which I can do) but I want a bit more power in reserve...

How much more hp would the 70-75 kits bring you?

How much does a complete engine swap cost you to get the same hp?

The Honda NSR50 engine is nearly the same like the NS1 (80ccm) or the CRM75 engine. I have a 100ccm kit on my crm engine and it goes 130km/h. I think it can also fit on your engine.
