I belive me and shawnbassett26 will be there. Are they strict on the motor size? Both of us are well over 50cc. Looks like a great time. Too bad we will smoke everyone

So i guess its $37. Yeah i wonder if they will give us a hard time about our motor size? Ill def. be there. Dose it usally max out with riders? (150?) They keep saying its not a race, but is it really a race and they just cant advertize it? Are the cops bad? Cant wait!

As long as the bike was 50cc from the factory and you keep your mouth shut, you will have no worries. Don't count on smoking everyone as you aren't the only person who will be going through the mountains at 80mph.

Seeing how it's not a race, you might as well take your time and enjoy the scenery. If you finish the ride in an hour, you'll miss out on all the fun.

I know people who go and I'll make it down one of these years.

Just make sure you are plated and street legal. In your case, your cowling will hide a big secret..

Re: true grits fun run

I dont think they will make a big deal about the motor size. Ive seen lots of ysrs with the derbi+ big bore kit and with rs50 + big bore kits. An nsr80. Ysr with a xr 100 or 200 (I dont remember) and all kinds of stuff. People are gonna check out your bikes but I never saw anyone complain. Mine will just be a basicly stock ysr. Yea its not a race. Cops were not bad at all last year. Just dont cause an accident or do stupid stuff. Otherwise they wont do this ride anymore. It will look bad and be one less opportunity for us mini riders to get together and ride. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. Everyones a winner.

Yea its 37 dollars unless your an AMA member. If you ride any kind of bike/atv on or off road you should be.

Ill be riding this ysr:

Nothing fancy but its mine.

If you have any worries about your engine size email Ben Cheatwood he will let you know if its gonna be a problem. But like I said before you wont be the only ones running more than 50cc. Hopefuly you all can make it.

I've got no lights or plate! What are the laws in Georgia about bikes. In South Carolina, you can operate a motorcycle in the daytime with no headlight, but it must be for daytime riding only. Plates are only required if it is over 50cc's...I keep my mouth closed on this one..
Please let me know how I can prepare my bike for Georgia standards...Thanks.

Well You dont need lights to run in the daytime. What if it rains. Suposed to be lights on when raining in GA. Im pretty sure the no tag for 50cc doesnt work here. I belive its something like "scooters" under 50cc doing speeds 35mph or less dont need tags.

All street driven motorcycles 1972 and newer have to have turn signals in GA.

No GHP are not very fun to deal with most of the time. I didnt see any cops last year during the whole ride. I still dont think I would chance it either.

A crf 50 with no lights and no tag reguardless of tire/suspension type will look like a dirt bike. Dirt bikes usually arent street legal and usually get pulled over.

Put some lights on it and get a drive out tag from a friend that works at a dealer.

One guy last year had a pocket bike like the ones you can buy at pepboys. It came with a tail light. He added a head lamp. I dont think he had a tag, Im not sure if it would even do 35mph. He finally finished about an hour after everyone else.

I really dont think anyone will say any thing. But its your call as you will be the one responsible for your decisions and acions.

You could always contact Ben Cheatwood and ask him about it im sure he could tell you more or give you better advise.
