NSF gearing?

The stock rear sprockets are the size of a girl scout cookie. I had 2 more rears made in +2 & +4, but I'm still only using 3-4 gears on the kart tracks.
What gearing are you guys running?
Will sprockets made for the NSR work for our bikes? I'm assuming it would.
Does anyone know who carries them?

Sorry for all the questions.

Re: NSF gearing?

I have an NSR with an XR100 motor in it (like an NSF) I am running a bigger carb and pipe. Mine has a bit different gear ratio in the tranny since is came out of an XR100 dirt bike, especially in the lower gears but the taller gears 3,4,5 are fairly close in ratio to yours. I am running a 16 front and a 45 rear so a 2.81 and that seems to work really well (I believe an NSF has around a 2.0 stock ratio or close to it), I have run as tall as a 2.68 and as low as a 2.87. NSR rear sprockets should work fine on an NSF. I would recomend running a 16 tooth front, this will help cut back on engine braking on the track and then dial in a rear sprocket from there. Remember the lower the gear ratio you run you will have more engine braking and that can be a pain in the butt on the race track especially if you are racing NSR's or other 2 strokes cause they have very little engine braking. You should be redlining in 5th gear around the end of the longest straight away at your track (the track we run has about a 700 foot straight) Sprocket Specialists is where I get my gears, I have a new 41 tooth rear for sale if you need that size.

I dont run a speedo since I only run the bike at the track, If I where to guess probably about 65-70mph in the straights but I am not for sure. It can pull fairly tall gears and probably go pretty fast on a big straight but 700 feet isnt very long.
