NSF CRF150R conversion Ok. I just started the install of a CRF150R engine into my NSF100. The engines looked to be about the same size but the mounting points are all different. The CRF engine uses the swingarm pivot as its main mounting point and the NSR does not. I wanted to utilize this to keep the swingarm pivot and countershaft close. So I cut and reworked the stock arm and some minor work to the rear motor mount and it worked out great. I then made a removable engine cradle for easy access. The next step is mounting the radiators and making a custom exhaust. I just hope I can keep the front wheel on the ground when it's done.

Re: NSF CRF150R conversion I mounted the radiators, There was not that much room to fit them in. The radiator mount has only 1/2in clearance from the tire when the suspension is fully compressed and another 1/2in from the reworked pipe. The pipe had to be modified to fit in. I used the original head pipe, but had to cut it, grid it, and re-weld it in a couple of places to get it to fit with minimal clearance. The tail section of the pipe was not to difficult just welded 3 pieces together at the right angles and added a carbon canister. Since the pipe came around the left side on the NSF motor and the CRF exited on the right I had to relocate the shock reservoir to the left side of the bike as well as the rear brake reservoir.. My original plan was to mount the motor just forward of the swingarm pivot. I'm glad I utilized the CRF's rear mount and cut the arm to accommodate it or I never would have had the room for the radiators and exhaust.

Re: NSF CRF150R conversion congrats!!! you'll have the ultimate mini racer, bought my 150r thinking on put that engine on my nsr, but then I decided to keep both bikes and went with the 50 pro race to compite in F1, but I always wanted to do what you're doing, maybe when I get tired of the 150r. good job!!!

Re: NSF CRF150R conversion No, I still have just 2 needle bearings on the arm. There is a inner shaft that goes all the way through the arm and the motor. I left that in one piece to keep the strength. The bolt goes through the inner shaft and holds everything tight so the swingarm pivots on it's 2 bearings just as it did stock.
