Need New Forks for NSR

I crashed during a race and bent the forks. Does anyone here have a spare set that they don't need. I'll buy them. They have to be for an '04 bike though.

Alternately, does anyone know if forks can be straightened? They are bent at maybe 2-3 deg. right below lower triple.

You don't need new forks. You need new forkleg uppers and buy them from your local Honda dealer.

If you choose to get all new right and left forks and drop a ton to get them, I"ll buy your bent junkers if the lowers are still good and not gouged to all heck...

I saw those, but they are the shorter kind. I haven't been able to measure how much shorter, but from literature I found that they might be about 30 mm too short. I will have to verify - he posted dimensions on e-bay.

I will look for tubes at Honda dealer.

Re: Need New Forks for NSR

About 30mm sounds right, the 'new style' forks are a bit longer to accomodate a proper upper clamp, and clipons that don't just bolt to the fork cap.

While in theory you can straighten fork tubes, it's not worth the effort, they'll never work as well as they did before, and depending on where the bend it will likely eat seals like candy. As Z said, you can just get replacement fork tubes and be good to go.

Z, if you need lowers, I've got a set that just need a paint job to look good, uppers are starting to pit which is why I didn't run them.
