Question Aftermarket Brake Levers for NSR50?

Hi all,

Do any of you run aftermarket brake levers? I'd like to replace mine with an ASV shorty but don't know which one to use. The website does not make note of the NSR50. Any help is appreciated.

There is an article on MiniGPX.com that tells you which ones to use. Here is the link:

Or you can purchase the TTS billet lever made for the NSR50 that also has a matching clutch lever that fits the Honda Monkey left clamshell.

Comes in various colors.

I am running the ASV shorty's on my NSR. You can use any of their clutch lever with perch with no problems. As far as the brake I am using the lever that they sell for the SDG speed mini. This lever works well with the NSR front brake master cylinder. The nice part is there are no modifications that are needed to get it to work.

Re: Aftermarket Brake Levers for NSR50?

Bri6672 and miniman... Thanks for the info! Much appreciated

Dan, I may order the TTS levers for the ZB.

I still have a make a final list of misc items needed to finish up my builds. The ASV will be for the CRF50. I wanted to keep a little of the dirt/sumo feel to it.

I do need a kick stand for 12" wheels. The one I have on there rubs up against the swinger and has been grinding away at it. I barely noticed it yesterday and glued a rubber piece to prevent any more grinding away of material.

The SDG Speed Mini Lever (BH308 ) from ASV does need modding to fit NSR. Mine took a little machining to get it to fit. So did the second one. Granted, it wasn't much, but it was enough to piss me off about having to do it. Maybe you have a different style NSR master cylinder than the 2 different styles I have? Ness, I'd count on a less than perfect fit with ASV. lol

The TTS lever are nicer anyway. They look much better imho and cost about the same. They're not break-aways tho. I have a silver set and it was well worth the C note and the short wait. They weigh absolutely nothing too, which I like.

Ernesto, bring me your brake setup and I will see if there is one that matches without modification.

Here's some pics of the levers..

Note the removable brake light switch tab. (Brake switch is not installed in pic.) My ASV does not offer this feature.

Here's the brown. MiniParts 838.jpg
I'll take pics of the clutch side later. Same thing basically.

That is wierd! I just bolted mine on and I was good to go. What kind of modifications did you need to do to get it to fit?

I had to grind the top and bottom insides of the tabs/provisions on my master a little, right where the lever mounts up. It wasn't much at all. Just enough to piss me off considering all the costs involved. I'm over it though..
