| Re: Hey, anyone in Southwestern Ontario? ![]() GoPHER DUNES is located on Hwy. 59, 30 minutes south of Woodstock. It is located 5 km south of Hwy 3 in Courtland, which is a main highway connecting Windsor to Fort Erie. Directions from Hwy 401 (coming from East Kitchener/Toronto): Exit 401 by Woodstock at Hwy 59 Delhi / Norwich Ave. At stoplight turn left onto Hwy 59 South. Travel for about 10 min. until you come to a small hamlet called Holbrook. You will see an Al's Tire on your right and a sign for Oxford Road 13. You must veer off to your right onto 13 (do not follow 59 which makes a sharp curve to the left). Follow Oxford Road 13 for close to 10 minutes until you reach a small village called Springford and you come to a dead end stop. To continue travelling south, you must make a quick jaunt to the left and a quick right. After another 5 minutes you will come to stoplights. This is where Oxford Road 13 ends, and you cross over Hwy. 3 and will be back on Hwy 59 South. From the stoplights you travel 5 km. further and Gopher Dunes will be on your right hand side. Directions from Hwy 401 (coming from West Windsor/London): Exit 401 by Ingersoll onto Hwy 19 South to Tillsonburg. Travel South for 20 minutes through Salford, Mount Elgin & Ostrander & drive through the town of Tillsonburg. Turn left onto Oxford St. at the stoplights by Carpet One & Sears and travel past a # of car dealerships & fast food outlets; just past the WalMart / Zehr's Mall you will come to a dead end stop. At this stop sign turn left onto Hwy 3 and travel east for 4 km. to the stoplights in Courtland. At the lights turn right onto Hwy 59 South & travel 5 more km. & Gopher Dunes will be on your right hand side. Directions from Hwy 3: Travelling from the East you will go through Simcoe, Delhi and when you get past Courtland, you must turn left at the stoplights onto Hwy 59 and travel south for 5 km. Travelling from the West you will go through St. Thomas, Aylmer, bypass Tillsonburg and you will reach the stoplights just before Courtland, where you turn right onto Hwy 59 and travel south for 5 km. Directions from Hwy 403: Coming from Hamilton/Brantford travelling West on the 403, exit at Rest Acres Road. Turn south (left) onto Hwy 24 for 5 min. & continue just past the stoplights by Scotland --- turn right on the very next road just after the lights which is Reg. Rd. 4 taking you thru Vanessa and into Delhi (about 15 minutes). From Reg. Rd. 4 you will approach Delhi and turn right onto Church St. go to the stoplights and turn right onto Hwy 3. Follow Hwy 3 into Courtland (10 min.) and turn left at the stoplights (Lockhart's Odyssey is located at this intersection) and travel 5 km. south on Hwy 59 & Gopher Dunes will be on your right hand side. There are signs posted by the roadside and an oval shaped pond is visible from the road. Travel time from Toronto Airport is close to 2 hours, and 1 hour from Kitchener or London. Have a safe trip... |
