Re: Mid-Ohio MiniGP races It's really too bad they have this the same weekend as the Nationals at USA. We could really use some good turn out at these bigger events but when there are so many on the same weekend, it won't help the mini racing scene.

Hmmmmmmmmmm your getting frustrated with what you may not understand. Its hard for us locals to not promote a sport to our core region! When Mid-Ohio, and the AMA, and RedBull invite us (USMGP, OYL etc...) to promote miniGP racing so how can we possibly say no? This is where the future racers come from at this point. I had no real intention of traveling to USAint for many other reasons, so for me to be able to attend this Promotional event that is 3 hours from my house, while representing OUR sport how can I say NO? It is within my constraints to make it a positive event and attend in a capacity where I have direct involvement in promoting this fine sport where future legends will arise from. Ever heard of an AMA racer named Jason Desalvo? He learned to first race high end Pocketbikes.... look at him now He did a big autograph session last year with us....... folks are working on getting him back up along with others..... even some of the RedBull riders will be up.........If the AMA, Road America, RedBull approached your local clubs to do demo races would you do that or drive hundreds of miles to race at a national? I think you would promote miniGP racing at Road America........... Many things were mentioned way back when Cam was formulating a date for SEMRA's Mini National. It was decided in the best interest that the chosen date was the first weekend in August. Those that can make it will, those that cannot will not. Its really not about what is more important. It is about making it ALL important for those making the EFFORT to attand what ever event on any given date......... Both events have very positive end results stemming from those people that attend each event. the people attending USAint are racing hardecorepunkrock! Making a statement for top dog in each class on a National Level......... The companies supporting this event understand where their money and adverizments are going. The people attending the Mid-Ohio event understand that we are not "racing" but promoting the sport to many many potential racers, we are there to show people what happens during a typical miniroadrace event. All ages, all talent levels, many many types of machines......... We are getting huge exposure so that all of our respective mini race clubs get some attention on a grand scale to thousands of race fans.......... Whats to not understand why both events are so crutial? ![]() Last edited by teddy; 06-18-2008 at 05:50 PM.

Re: Mid-Ohio MiniGP races Teddy a simple "yep it's too bad" would have been just fine. But instead you, of course, had to try and educate me on the mini scene. Have fun at Mid Ohio.
