Yeah I should have raced the last one but look in the off topic section and see what happen to where I live a tornado came through. Just got done with my 110 right before and just needed to put oil back in it. Bike needs a little work but just too busy with everything else so racing is on hold again. Hey I am only 20 so I got time to start racing I guess.LOL More time then money also.

It's not to late to sign up. You sign up the night of the race. $10.00 gate fee. $25.00 race fee. Two motos. The good news is that,as a perk to the racers, you can ride the pit bike track after the race. No other track does that!

For $10.00 you can also race on the main stadium track during intermission.

I just saw your tornado pictures .... wow. Hope all is well, or at least as well as it can be.

I don't think that you need an AMA card but I am not positive. You don't need a district card.

There are two classes based on rear wheel size, a 10" class and a 12" class. There are no other rules.

So I take it there are no "stock" or "mod" classes?

I've been to almost every one this year, you do need an ama card but not a district card. There are only two classes on the small track - 10" and 12" rear wheel. You guys should come check it out, especially 10" bikes. There are always several 110s, but we need more fifty's.

Is it AMA sanctioned? If not then I don't see why an AMA card is required...... I thought all pitbike races were "outlaw".

You have to be an ama member so your covered by insurance. If anybody wanted to go you can sign up on their website and print out a temporary card to bring to the races. - They have them every other weekend I think, the schedule is on their website.

Re: Joliet Pit bike race, Saturday June 28

So can I sign up for the ama at the track or what? At other races they have you sign up at the sign up booth. I did not know the ama even showed they had classes for pitbikes.

To me it may not be worth racing the 110 class since zach martinos dad owns the track. He rides his bbr 110 during intermission a few weeks back and did three laps on the big bike track and jumped everything including the 80 foot triple and even went off the track all three times and back on to clear the finish line table top. He was in the lead the whole time also from the start. He rides on the mini track with the bike also so to me its a waste of money to race since they leave the track open for practice after the races are done so as long as I have fun.

So here is what ya do. You have to do is go as a spectator with your bike in the back and when they get done with the races take your bike out and go rip and pay only $10 to get into the track. Done it before and works like a charm. Usually no one is around there anyways since they are watching the big bike races.

Well I will be there next race date hopefully.

Sucks they only have two classes. They need full mod class and bone stock and stock/mod classes for both 50s and 110s.

Riding the pit bike track after the race is a gift intended for those who have already paid to race. There is no other track, pit bike or big bike, that allows people to freely ride the track after the racing is done. If people continue to do what you are suggestiong I am sure that the owner will stop allowing people to ride after the race. $35 for a practice session, two 5 lap motos, a night of play riding plus the ability to watch big bike racing seems reasonable to me. Please sign up to race.

Regarding different classes, I have been racing at JMX for the past 3 years and during that time there have been stock classes but lately there have not been enough people on stock bikes to justify a stock class. Get a bunch of people on stockers together and ask for class. If you get enough people I am sure that the owner will do it.

Re: Joliet Pit bike race, Saturday June 28

I don't see a problem cause when I was there all you see was people that did not sign up since they race big bikes and just have pitbikes that they ride the pits on and go out on the mini track to have fun. I know for sure some of them did not race the pitbike races. So yeah its not fair and thats why I don't pay the prices to ride since everyone else is not. Why should I be forced to pay when some drunken idiot goes on the track for free and rides his buddys bike.

Have you ever been to the races? There are more stocker or light modded bikes than fully built ones when I am there but none of them bother to sign up since guys show up on a full out bbr 50 and 110s.

I do not care for the owner at all since I see how he acts to other riders when his kid gets beat.
