Hey guys, Trying to convince a local promoter to have pit bikes races at every one of his events.. Its for the MEGACROSS Shootout Series in MENDOTA,IL... Its a real cool track for pitbikes... So if you would be interested in sending an e-mail to him asking for more race dates for the pitbikes before he post the pitbike schedule up that would be great... wardy@megacross.com I think he is unsure of pitbike attendence even though every year there are more and more riders. So come one help the sport grow in our area! Thanks Eric SPM-Racing

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... I sent him an email a few weeks back. Basically asking some questions and letting him know I had 5-6 guys interested. We would do at least 75% of the races. Hope it works out.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... We were thinking of going there. My friend is doing some work on my bike right now. Waterman is kind of expensive, so Im not sure on that one. Also we're not the smoothest of riders yet, and I know Waterman is a teck kind of track. We'll see though.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... I'll email wardy and ask to run it too. My son has been wanting to race thier but I'm an enduro geek and don't feel like racing my big bike thier but would race the 50 for sure, even if I get smoked. I also go to Fox valley and Buffalo Range for practice and when my son is riding I chase him around on the 50, way easier then the big bike.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... You guys need to race at the Joliet MX pit bike track. There is a pit bike race on every Saturday night race, which is typically on opposite weekends of Mendota. There is a 110 size class and a 50 size class. If needed the classes are run together but scored separately The race is two moto's of 5 laps each. In the past the Mendota race has been 3 laps, sometimes 4 laps. Pit bike racing starts between 6:00 - 6:30 and is done within an hour or so. After the racing is finished you can either go watch the big bikes race on the Stadium track or you can practice on the pit bike track all night long. So not only do you get to race but you get to practice afterwards. The owner of JMX is really into to pit bikes so he supports them in a big way. There is one more option to race pit bikes. JMX has a Stadium track class called Mini-4 Stroke, which allows any 4 stroke up to 150cc. I have seen little pit bikes completely smoke Honda CRF150's in this class. This season the Stadium track has been changed to all table tops so this class will be fun for pit bikes. Sorry for the long post but I was at the track last night and it was a blast. More people need to come out and enjoy. Joliet Motor Sports

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... Will definetly be hitting up the Joliet races. The racing sounds fun, and just hanging out and riding the track afterwards should be a good time. Cant wait for the first race.

Re: Attn: Illinois Riders.... A couple quick questions. What membership is required to race? AMA and/or other? What time do you have to be there to sign up for Pit Bike races? The first race might be hard to make it to, but after that, hopefully hitting a few.

To practice on non-race nights you need to gave a Joliet membership, which is $35.00 per year. The practice fee is $25.00. | |
