Stoppie Problem Has anyone here had a problem w/ constantly loosening steering head, after doing stoppies. After proper torqueing of the steering head nut, about 20 attempts at stoppies and there is a noticible shift in the steering head and the frame. Have taken apart replaced bearings and stll same problem. Any suggestions Thanks, Jay

Re: Stoppie Problem Have you ever taken it apart before??? If so did you use threadlock to keep from unscrewing. It seems to me that there should be some sort of washer under top tripple, above the steering stem nut. I believe that when its tightened together that the C-wrench nut on the steering stem is gouging the bottom of the tripple causing it to loosen.

Re: Stoppie Problem I got a set of tapers but they dont fit into the frame. I havent been able to find the correct mm. diameter bearings to fit. I cant place a washer in the spot I'm speaking of. it is under the upper tripple, where the bearing collar screws onto the steering stem, and and there is a raised portion that looks as it is supposed to fit into the bottom of upper tripple, but for some reason, once it is tight, the collar turns with the bars and tripple, eventually loosening the front end.
