power upgrades, seems helpful. whats the deal?

Well recently i have been riding alot from my house to work which is roughly 5 or so miles each way. streets sidewalks whatever. I have been doing alot of 3rd gear stuff and can get the standups pretty well until i grab a lil too much brake or my body position lets the nose fall. Currently i have a filter and went to a 15 in the front sprocket. So i dont have quite the power to always keep 3rd up. I like the speed now and wouldnt wind being a little faster as well. Seems a cheap dratv 88 kit might be a good option to have the power to pull the front wheel up from a spot that now will fall.

I would like to go taller gearing eventually as well to get some higher speeds to travel the roads faster then the traffic does. Plus 1st is useless and 2nd isnt fast enough.

general consensus is more power better? I am guessing a race type setup with a sick head and such might be a little twitchy and not the best for stunting?

whats everyone run out there. is there a really good happy medium that works well without dumping 500+ into it?

I have the 88with Race head but my buddy has an 88 stock head and he keeps up fine. Easier to pull up h/c's with an 88.
