how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? ok so if you read my previoust post i recently bought a 99 bear tracker for cheap and have since fixed it up and sold it to a friend aafter promising to teach her how to wheelie it. well i can get it to wheelie pretty easy (standing on the grab bar) and have spent the last week trying to teach her but she just can't seem to get more than about 14inches off the ground any pointers that i should have taught, that may be keeping her on the ground? so far i have taught her body position, approach speed, and throttle (but being as slow as it is you have to go full throttle until ur almost straight up or it will fall imidetly, this i have also told her) now i am nowhere near a wheelie expert but can loft the frontend about 80-100ft so i figured im up to teaching a complete newb andy feedback would be awsome

Re: how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? throttle control and brake control are soooo important, its almost impossible to teach, you just have to feel it

Re: how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? girls have a tendancy to let off the gas too early, my woman has been working on basic wheelies for 2 years and just now got to where she can go as far as she wants on one wheel but has to have her feet on the ground.... they also tend to lean forward no matter what you tell them and they have a bigger fear of wrecking than we do.. not dogging women, there's a ton that can outstunt me, but i'm just making a broad generalization,.... gonna have to make her flip it a few times untill she's not scared of it enough to actually wheelie it

Re: how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? stand on the rack to begin w/ and just do standups. make sure both rear wheels have the same amount of air pressure in them. lower the better. 3-4 psi. if for some reason it doesn't want to come up in first then you may have to do it sitting down to start off. sitting down in neutral, pull up on the gear shifter and hold it up like you were shifting into first, rev it up and release the shifter, it will already be in gear. it's like clutching it b/c hell that's what you are doing.

Re: how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? you get good at it on the back rack and you will actually be able to move side to side and take some curves. keeping it slow and high is the key to turning. and the other important part is very low tire pressure.

Re: how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? I would start by wheeling with her on it for her to get the feel for it. Those big 4 wheelers are hard to wheelie tho. Just be careful and not make your women a cripple. Rear brake is friend in wheelies.

Re: how to wheelie a heavy slow atv???? if your doing this, make sure there is nothing even remotely in front of you. if you ditch off the back these big automatic quads dont tip over and stop like a dirtbike.......
