help scraping

I have a 50 with a 50stunt 12 bar and every time i scrape it flips over, even with me leaning forward. I can get it to set back down some times but not very often. I think it might scrape past 12 cause thats what everyone tells me.

Any help?

Re: help scraping

If you're flipping over onto your back then you probably just need to adjust your plate out a bit more. ive never seen anyone flip over before unless they were using a roller bar.

Re: help scraping

With the 50stunt 12-bar you can adjust the plate in and out. Just loosen up the rear 2 clamps and you can slide the plate further back. If it seems a little stuck just use a rubber mallet or a dead blow hammer to move it.

Re: help scraping

Show a picture if your bike standing up on the bar

And you are setting it GENTLY onto the bar right? If your slamming the bar, you are gonna go back, as well as break your frame!

Btw if your 12 bar is ANY longer then your rear fender, then you are fine.. If its shorter then your rear fender, then your going past 12

Re: help scraping

The plate should be lined with your rear tire when you look at it.

Re: help scraping

Whoa. Touching the fender. That's like a 1:00 bar. +1 to moving the plate out.

Re: help scraping

I wanna learn how to scape my fender. If you scraped while it is on the fender, I say leave it there and keep practicing. Then you can just move it out and it will be really easy, plus you can take it off and touch your fender.

Scape = Cool
Touch Fender = Badass!!!!

Re: help scraping

IF you wanna scrape fender, then you gotta work on riding the brake enough to hold it on the fender, but not actually put your weight into it..

The way 50's are built, if you have your 12 bar that short, you can't really put your weight into it or its gonna come back

Yeah, but if you weigh as much as I do (250) it is impossible on the drum brake. I have disk conversion and that is the only way I can do it, and it is brief.

ya drum brakes definitely make fender scrapes damn near impossible, especially on 50's with there TINY drum brakes.

I had a hard time getting my 150f to scrape tail, but it was still a lot easier then a 50 since it has a way bigger drum.

But now that I ride a sport bike with disk brakes, I can no longer scrape my 150 or 50's tail

You have two solutions~

Get disc brakes, or a longer tail. LOL
