the reason you guys are fouling plugs is because of 3 things
1- you are running with to much oil in the gas (i have foung 32-1 to be the best and 35/40-1 for racing applications but that cuts the piston/rings life in half at best)

2-che carb is set to ritch letting to much fuel in the engine in any give rpm

3- you are riding like a girl and not hitting the powerband regularly witch burns off all excess fuel in the engine

also as stated before check the reeds
and worst comes to worst take it back to the dealer that did the top end and have them fix it (usually covered in the saisfaction guraentee, or atleast that is how the local suzuki/honda dealership is if they do any work and it is proven to be faulty within 10 days of picking up the bike they will repare it free of charge) also when they were working on it and had it torn apart thy should have inspected the reeds in witch case they should have written on the reciept that they are coming close to needing to be changed

Gleen hit it on the head, your plug is fouled. And cleaning them does not fix a fouled plug. When it fouls the core curns out so cleaning it is of no use

A cracked or broken reed can foul plugs as well

i understand i thought was understood previously?
i mean dosen't that fall under the category of " the dealer should have seen the reeds were either bad or getting bad thus should have made a side note on the recipt "
i was pointing out the less obvias reasons

oh and what was the temp when it was running? and what is the current temp?
if it is not colder then you need to ritchen the carb and if it is hoter you need to lean the carb, usually about 3/4 of a turn dose but some times require to move the clip one space

i bet the plug is fouled. i had the same problem with my 85. i poped a new plug in a fired right up. im almost finished with my xr70/cr80 conversion. the front wheels wont stay down,

i would say check the coil. i had a cr once that would start but as soon as one tryed to take off and rev the think is would splutter and die. the coil was partly damaged so still sparked but couldnt tell the diference betwwen a proper spark this damaged spark. check with a multimeter and test the resistance on the coils
