best way to wheelie im new. just got my 50. whats the best way to wheelie? it pops up a lil shiftin into 2nd but i roll off the throttle into it. Should i just giv it a lil or lot of throttle shiftin into 2nd? or should i pull up on the bars? id rather wheelie on power than shiftin into it (up or down).

| Re: best way to wheelie turn the throttle practice your slowspeed wheelies by starting with your feet on the ground and pulling back on the bars and giving it gas, lift up the front wheel and ride it like that for as long as you can. in the beginning its ok to use your feet for balance. | Re: best way to wheelie put it in first pull and hit throttle at same time itll pop right up find ur balance point then its just throttle control from there seat time helps alot to it just takes some getting use to try sitting right where the fender meets the seat that shld be a good start to finding the balance point |

Re: best way to wheelie i found it easier to learn wheelies in 2nd. you're going faster than 1st gear so the side to side balance is easier. As your going along in 2nd open up the throttle and pull the bars back. There's a little lag when you open up the throttle so you'll have to practice with the timing. Pulling it up when shifting from 1st to 2nd doesnt really require you to pull up on the bars, but if you give it too much throttle it can come up pretty quick. ALWAYS have the rear brake covered so you can bring it back down if you feel yourself going too far back. Just take your time and have fun. The more seat time you have the more comfortable you'll become.

Re: best way to wheelie thats the way i started out doing them, but it really doesn't help you learn your balance now that i think about it cause your body is in a totally different position when on the pegs. just easier to bail out the other way. as far as shifting from 1st to 2nd and letting it come up, id hold off on that for a while, you have to have the throttle just right or it will dump you or not come up enough. it all just takes time and practice. keep riding and having fun it will come.

Re: best way to wheelie I forgot to ask does it still have stock bars on it? Stock bars are much harder to wheelie with. At least for me it was.

Re: best way to wheelie Do not practice with your feet down this causes bad habbits learn to do them with your feet on the pegs.. if u dont later down the road everytime u start to lean ur gonna wanna stick your leggs off the peg just make sure u always have ur foot on the brake just incase it comes up a lil to high

Re: best way to wheelie ok. just got back from tryin wheelies today. i've got about an hour on it now.didnt catch some of the replies til after i got back right now. i do hav stock bars. everythings stock. i tried with my feet on the ground. it was nice to get the bike up high but my bodyposition just made me feel like i wasnt doing a wheelie. i felt like i was cheatin. i tried rolling on from 1st to 2nd and DAMN the front hopped up so quick. it liked it but i dont feel like i quite hav a handle on the bike yet. kinda felt like i wasnt in control. dont get me wrong, i know more throttle, higher the front goes. guess im just bein a pussy.lol

Re: best way to wheelie lmao i kinda learned the auto clutch by accident, i was racing with some of my friends down a street and when i shifted the bike came up and hit balance point just kinda stayed there. i had never really wanted to try it that way until it happened that time. i love doing them that way now tho.

Re: best way to wheelie I don't use the clutch to wheelie any of my bikes so the auto clutch doesn't bother me. A good way to learn to wheelie is to find a long steady hill. Going up hill is alot easier to find the blance point as it is lower and when you let off the front comes naturally down. Also learn to use the back brake. I can't stress that enough. Once you get the hang of that you will never loop out. Your instinct will be to hit the back brake and it will come down. Most people the instinct is to take the feet off the pegs and start running. But once you go over 10mph that isn't very usefull but funny to watch. Learning on a bicycle helps also.
