Question what kind of performance will a 108 stroker kit do on my friends 70?

My friend was wanting to know what kind of performance he would get if he put the 108 kit on his 70? He had a lifan 140 and I say had in the past tense cause he blew it up today. What is the comparison from the 108 to the 140? is it more torque or what? any help you guys can give,I would really appreciate it. Thanks

i rode a lifan 108 on my buddies bike and honestly i was a little disappointed i expected it to be a giant step up from my 50...its a good motor just not as much power as i expected. no clue on how it would compare to the 140 tho so i guess im not much help on this one

A honda engine with trail bikes stroker kit is much more powerful than a lifan 107. You would be lucky if the lifan 107 had 7 hp. That is comparing apples to oranges. If you have a tb 108 with a good clutch it will be a better performer than the 140. But be aware the 140 is a torque monster and a 108 makes its power with revs.

What's broke on the 140? Pretty cheap to fix. 4 gears and all the extra displacement will bury a 108 once you add some compression and a cam, VM26. A light sling and flywheel will give back a lot of the zing-iness.

Getting a 108 kit with a head, or porting the stocker? If he's gotta split the cases, might as well bore them for a 117 instead of 108.

i had a tb 108 motor in my 70 it was ok, but i put a krp 150 in it. now it hauls ass. the money youre going to spend on a tb 108, you should think about putting it towards a yx 150 you wount be disapointed.
