Someone get a 70 to the chinese ASAP!

I just priced out a frame and all the plastics (other than a front fender) and bolts associated with the plastics...

$1100 retail, $870 through Ron Ayers, $785 through Service Honda. I can buy a NEW CRF70 for that kind of cash if I play my cards right!

The breakdown for those curious:
Frame - $240
Gas tank - $165
Front shrouds - $65
Rear number plates - $70
Rear fender - $25
Seat - $110

That's using the best pricing from Ron Ayers or Service Honda. I'll be walking funny for a week just pricing this out... I was planning on doing a CRF70 conversion utilizing bits from my Pro Mini but unless I stumble into a sweet deal for a used machine, it's not happening any time soon.

Anyone want a Pro Mini based roller with a CRF70 front and rear end? : )

Reeg Makes a complete tall seat for the 70, $80 I believe. If you are planning on buying that stuff you should just look for a kid used 70 you could pick it up for cheaper than that.

If I were you, I would scour all available avenues - Ebay, newspaper classifieds, www.craigslist.com ,thumper forums, flea markets etc. Someone has to have what your looking for.

you can get it for cheap from other places. I have found used frames for $100 and i got plastics shipped to me minus tank and seat for $280 from planet honda. I spoke with the guy there and he told me he could do a tank and seat for cheap too. i think $200 for the both.

I work at RonAyers. I can get you the parts for cost + 10%. Of course, I will have to add in shipping though. I will have to plug all the part #s into the computer to see what I come up w/. If you want to make it really easy on me, give me the part #s so all I have to do is plug them in. That way I don't have to look anything up. I work in the service dept and I don't get much time to be looking up parts prices.

Why do those prices only add up to 675? Bolts that much?

Yeah, there is a good $100 to $200 depending on where you look in bolts/brackets/etc you need to make a complete 'kit' out of a CRF70 frame. In my case I'm bringing a motor, exhaust, and front and rear suspension, so I'd need all the other fiddly bits.

Mello: If I go the new route I'll sling you up the parts list I did up, and I much appreciate the offer.

I'm currently leaning towards lowballing a local on his 05 that's been sitting all year with a For Sale sign on it. I'll transfer my good bits off the Pro Mini to it, use the leftovers to make the Pro Mini a functional machine and try to sell it as a light mod 50. : ) My wife even suggested that route as I went over the costs with her. : )

Yea, someone seriously do this. I found a great deal on plastics some guy was selling for 150. It included all the plastics, gastank, and seat. I call him to find out more about it and he said he has to check shipping so then I call him a week later and what does he do... he sells them locally when I already told him I was interested a while ago. This pissed me off so much becuase now I don't have money to buy new plastics. I want to sell my stuff and buy a 110. I'm done. 70's are the biggest pain, NEVER BUILD ONE.
