ooooh, new bars

I'm putting some pro taper bars on my 70, replacing my stock bars and I have a question about the throttle. In the stock bars, there's a small hole in em that corresponds with a little nob/stub on the mount for the twist grip throttle. On the new bars, there isn't this little hole. should I drill into my new bars, or just cut off the little nub? If I cut off the little nub, won't the throttle's mount be able to move around a bit? Will this be a problem? Would I be able to fix it with handle bar tape, or whatever that stuff is?
oh, one other thing, where can I find an extended throttle cable (what site)? since the bars are taller, it pulls on the throttle when I turn to the right (thus, involuntarily revving the engine). it's pretty funny....

I would either drill the hole or get a different throttle.

None of the aftermarket throttles Ive seen have that stuff. I personally run a cr85 throttle, I think it looks cool, it doesnt slip and performs well.

only the stock throttle housing has that nub. Get an aftermarket unit and you won't have to drill holes or cut nubs.

I would just drill the hole. It only takes like 5 min. And as stated above dont buy a new cable just reroute the stock one. remove it from the guide on the frame and then run it between the frame and the tank , above the bolt where the tank mounts up. and if need be you can even run the cable behind your bars

It does not take five minutes, make sure the drill bit is meant for metal. It takes less than 5 seconds. Even still, though look into an aftermarket throttle or at least a better throttle. Those stock ones suck.

Don't drill the bars and get a new full size throttle, the 70 throttle tube is set up for Hondas own brand of crappy hard mini-grips.

Ebay has them for like $15.

hmmmmmm, thanks for everyone's advice. btw, before I even posted this thread, I had already cut off the little stub thing and mounted the throttle. I just wanted to know what an unbiased opinion would be...
