Need answers fast!

I had a 70 and i put bbr stiffer springs and dampings rods in the forks to stiffin them up a bit but they made the forks WAY too stiff, i sold the bike to a buddy and now he wants me to make them softer so im going to take the one of the springs out....how do i do it? do i have to pop the seal off? if so is it easy to get back in?

Re: Need answers fast!

Take the top clamp off. Take the gold color cap off. Only take one side out. Then put a stock one in.

Re: Need answers fast!

yeah i figured out i never noticed the gold color cap under the top bolt...felt like an idiot but you gotta learn somehow. Brad told me exactly what to use and how much ill try redoing the oil first and if they dont get softer ill throw the stock springs back in.

I didnt do them, so if there is more oil then needed then its not my fault. I told my dad to run by the shop and order some bbr springs and damping rods i left for 3 days i came back and he had dropped the bike off at teh shop and they did it.

Re: Need answers fast!

way too much oil. the forks will still use full travel. i ran too much oil in my old conventional kx forks and had the same problem. bottom out and were stiff as heck. take oil out, if that doesnt fix it take the big bolt out of the top of the tubes and simply pull the springs out. if i were you id keep one stiff spring and one stock spring in.
