Knock Off Items - Being Passed Off Is it just me, or are you guys seeing the same thing... Some of these guys/companies are parting out Chinese bikes, putting their name on it and calling it a 'great' part. They are building up their companies name and then selling junk and telling you/us it's great stuff... Some of the swingarms I see being offered are nothing more than knock off bike swingarms - by well known companies. One of the famous bike brands is a knock off bike, and they take the manufactures name off it, and put theirs on it... One company looks like it's selling chinese frames that nobody would want, and telling everyone how great they are - of course they are wearing the companies logo... Bad trend here - some of the well known pitbike companies are turning into nothing more than "chinese part out" companies... Funny thing is they all bad mouth the knock off bikes, to make their products look better - and uhhh hey isn't that the bike they are selling? Yeah it is isn't it. I tried a little test a while back and asked everyone if they knew what brand of bike something was - because it looked EXACTLY like a very popular off brand bike that everyone rides. Nobody knew what the bike was but one person... the person/company that sells the same knock off bike spoke up and said "Oh thats a so and so bike"... which confirmed my suspicions that this is what they were selling with their label on it. Oh well my rant is over - anyone else seeing this trend? Mike

Quote from one of my threads: "Boy oh boy everyone gets worked up about this stuff! They are all china junk bikes (which I happen to like and own)! Some are good bikes and some are actually junk. Some are upgradded with nicer componets and some need to be upgradded immediately. Anyone can have any of the china built bikes made to their likings and call them what they want. Some are aluminum some are steel. Some have better suspension than others some have better engines than others. It is that easy. SDG, Pitster, Thumpstar, RCMX, Moto Vert...... They are all basically the same as long as you reassemble them before ridding. A tit for a tat. So everyone just take it easy, do some research and buy the one that you think is the best bang for the buck and be happy! They have come along way since the first pit bikes due to the fact that companies like Pitster has done the research and had better bikes built for them and the consumer. Now MotoVert is coming out with what they think will be a good product for the consumer. These guys are in it for the same reason and that is to bring a good pit bike to us the consumers. Pitster has been into it for a while and now Motovert is. I am sure both companies/bikes will have their ups and downs but ultimately it is up to the consumer to decide where to spend their money!" Nothing new so who are you talking about????? If your gonna put sh1t out there midas well go all the way..... T

I don't disagree that a lot of the stuff is good stuff. It just cracks me up though when companies yank a swingarm off a bike and slap their logo on it and charge almost as much as the bike cost them! Then they take the frame and slap their logo on it and charge a big price (almost as much as the bike)... By the time they are done parting it out, they are making a killing. Regarding who(m)... nah, I'll pass on that one. That's how trouble really starts KNOCK KNOCK "Hi are you so and so? You've Been Served!" haha Mike Last edited by MikeeeP; 12-21-2006 at 11:23 PM.

I noticed a little something in my first post. It was supposed to say "junk" as that is what some of these companies proclaim. Sure I've seen it. You've seen it. Just look at some of the products sold and then go to eBay and look at some of the knock off bikes - suddenly you go "No way that looks just like a..." and when you question them about it they go "Ummm uhhh" My point in the first note was that some of these companies are selling us their "great" stuff and it's really the stuff they call Chinese "junk" so they are trying to promote themselves by putting down the companies they are buying containers full of product/bikes from. I actually have seen a lot of bikes that I think look fantastic. They look like they have the right geometry, the right "look" of the plastic and frame etc... like legit little bikes. Of course I have no clue how the shock or forks work on them... But that's another good question - When I see some of these little bikes that look legit - I'm always curious what would happen if you stuck a decent shock, forks and maybe a Honda motor in the chassis... That way you'd have a little bike with aluminum rims, disc brakes, possibly a chromoly frame or aluminum perimeter frame etc...

it would perform better. i thought you meant like that they were buying true BBR parts, re-stickering them, and then selling them at high cost, so nevermind.

z50King no what I meant is they are buying the knock off bikes - and then putting their logo or name on the swingarm, frame etc... and then jacking the price way up there. It's obvious when the company is selling stuff like anodized gas caps, plastic kits, seats etc... For the record, I think all these little bikes are cool. I'd ride a minibike with Briggs & Stratton for that matter LOL Actually I had one as a pitbike for the motocross races for years - it was a blast. Mike

I think it's idiotic how these people are selling this chinese **** on ebay. If you search crf 50 or xr 50 on ebay 98% of the results are chinese **** parts.
