crf 70 set up help wat up? i'm a 50 racer jumping up to the 70. i need more info on the xr/cf 80 forks ( stock? bolt on? etc? ) i started with stock 70 forks with long dampening rods & heavier springs. it works ok but the bike seems to push in the turns. also the shock mount on the stock frame seems too high?? is there a relocator? i have an ishock but it seems too short??? i'm looking for mid price level bike set up? any suggestions?

Re: crf 70 set up help you may need to soften the front end a bit to get it to settle some in the turn. Whats your weight? Have you given the stock springs a try to see if that helps any? Maybe try stock springs and 15 or 20 weight oil. If you installed the sp5 rods and not raised the rear you will get a bit of a chopper effect from the raised front end. Whats your rear suspension like? You will need to do something out back to raise up the back. Last edited by GAjonn; 07-23-2008 at 07:05 PM.

Re: crf 70 set up help i cut 3/4" off the heavy duty springs and it helped. i'm using about 5 oz of 10 wt fork oil with the bbr dampening rods. i put a i shock on the rear using the stock swingarm. i have a billetware +4" swingarm from my crf 50 race bike. it mounts up nicely but i have not ridden it yet. it still seems like the shock is too short, ride hieght is still low. i'm curious about relocating the shock mount on the frame

Re: crf 70 set up help 5 ounces sounds like too much oil. If you look at the video that bbr has on the sp5 forks the tech guy says use no more than 3.8 ounces of oil. When you sit down for the turn that may be why the front end is not compressing and sticking. What lenth is the I shock? I "think" 10.5 inches or 270 mm eye bolt to eye bolt is the stock lenth for a 70
