Street Legal 2006 CRF150F ??

What do you think about street legalizing a 2006 CRF150F??

I can get a light kit from Baja Designs (with or without turn signals) and a speedometer/odometer, the bike already has a mount for a mirror, I can pick up some DOT approved tires and I can fabricate some kind of rear foot peg set up.

I know I need to meet all the state requirements and I have heard how some people register their bikes out of state because depending on where they live it can be tough to get it licensed. But...that will be my second dilema. My first is just deciding if I want to do this...

The bike was bought for my wife to putt around on but I have been riding it up and down the street while getting it jetted and think it would be a fun bike just to run errands on or to take camping. She should still be able to ride it on the trails as long as I keep her out of any bad mud (because the DOT tires)

Any thoughts??

Sweet idea I think it would look something like this:

BTW, it's a very fun bike.

I did this with my 2007 crf50.. using the same method you are visualizing using for the crf150. Go for it. I thought about getting a 150 to do this with in motard styling, but I have no room for one at home.

just got back into bikes, after not riding in 20 years. i guess i was happy with my 07 150f. until i rode this 01 xr100r with fmf pipe. this thing was totally more fun than my 150f. was lighter, had more torque down low, and the pipe made it sound better too.
i found a two-bro pipe(got it for $185 shipped, that a good deal?) and ordered the jets and uni hi-flow filter on monday. waiting for the pipe to get here, and will put it all together. hopefully this weekend. there has to be some more ponies in that engine.. that xr100 was rocking with just the pipe and no other mods.
