Need advice!!!

I have a 2007 CRF230, along with a Pitster Pro X4, Lifan 110 Trail Rider, and a Redcat Trail 90. Here is my question:

When I start my CRF230, it conks out at idle. She starts fine and easy, but if I disengage the throttle, it dies. I've adjusted the carb screw, changed the spark plug, changed the oil, put new gas in the tank, and still, she conks out when I disengage the throttle.

Can anyone give me some advice? I don't want to take it to the dealership if it is a simple problem to fix.

Please advise. Thanks!!!

Re: Need advice!!!

u could be screwing the wrong screw on the carby cause one is fuel mixture and one is idle speed i think you have to put the idle speed up

Re: Need advice!!!

The air fuel mixture screw is on the front bottom of the carb on a CRF230. The only screw adjustment on the side of the carb is idle. You can get to the fuel mixture screw with a paper clip, but for ease I would suggest getting a fuel screw w/ a finger adjustment from msr or you will need to take the carb off to adjust it. Also if you want to fix it better and have it start/ warm up quicker you can get the "power up" kit for it. Check over at thumpertalk for the parts numbers, but you get a needle, jets and you take out the airbox restriction and baffle.

Re: Need advice!!!

sounds like you need to clean your carb.the pilot circuit is easily gummed up if a bike sits for a while.depending on how bad it will idle or not,die when you give it gas.if you work the throttle can you get it to stay running at a higher rpm?
