How do you break in a CRF150R Expert?

So, basically what are you supposed to do to break in a crf150r? What does the book say? what have you guys done? please only answer if you have broken in a crf150r or have broken in a 4 stroke race bike before!

Anything else on this or any other relevent topic?

PS! Mine CRF150R Expert Comes by Tuesday!! YAY!

Thanks

start the bike and warm up, do not over rev (bike idles at 2200 rpm) until you feel temp in the bottom case.
For the first lap go alittle easy to make sure everything gets up to temp.
after that. let er rip.
ride the bike like you where racing.
You need to develop enough cylinder pressure to seat the rings and putt'n around at 5000 rpm doesn't do it.
the only thing that "breaks in" is the rings the other stuff is on roller bearings.
trust me, your bike will be one of the "fast ones" if you do it this way.

Okay, what does "until you feel temp mean" until it is warm?

Anyone else?

What i do is crank it up and let it get to normal operating temp when running. That would be hot enough for you to touch the cylinder and say ouch! shut it off and let it cool down to room temp. Repeat this process by turning the idle up or choke and run it at a higher rpm just a little. Let it cool and run it again fanning the rpm's lightly through out half throttle. Go ride the bike around shifting but only giving it 1/4 throttle. Let it cool and warm up and do the same with 1/2 throttle, then the same with 3/4 throttle then go rip the crap out of it. It seems like a lomg process, but doing this will guarantee that your rings are seated and everything has properly expanded. Its more insurance than any thing and may keep you from tearing it down alot longer than your buddy that gets his cranks it up and goes to tear the corn field up.

if you live on the east coast sea level of o-999 you may want to drop the e-clip one on the needle and turn the fuel screw about a 1/2 turn out. turn the idle up aswell. My bike was so lean it wouldnt want to start when i got it. I also ordered the pc racing filter skins to keep the air filter cleaner and from having to change it after every moto. I hate cleanig foam filters. You get a 3 pack for $14.95

Everybody has their own opinion. Alot of people will really baby them for a while, but this isnt necessarily the best way. Yes you need to seat the rings, but dont go bangin the rev limiter every corner and then come right off the track and shut your bike down and cool down all that fast.
