| Re: $350 to spend on a 150R Do I recall reading that the 150r is quite loud stock? If it is loud I would recommend getting a quality exhaust that is designed to quiet it down. If you ride around your neighborhood or someone elses for that matter, you dont want to be forced to limit your riding due to complaints. If you have any money left over use it for gas and ride the wheels off that sweet bike! Last edited by chow592; 09-01-2007 at 09:54 PM. Reason: sp |

| Re: $350 to spend on a 150R considering your weight. i would recommend a mrd pipe. his pipes have excellent reviews. also if you crash and damage the pipe, he will repair it for free. here is a review that someone wrote on another forum about the exhaust: just FYI for all.......installed an MRD silencer to go with our MRD torque header. Bike is a stock 150RB except for 12.5 JE piston and the exhaust. Fit and finish - typical MRD high quality. We ordered the Pro-Comp version which comes with extra packing and the cone end cap. Much more compact than stock silencer. Kinda looks like one-half of a CRF250R dual system. Fit was perfect. Performance - made a definite difference from mid-range through top end. So much so that my son whacked the throttle on a high speed uphill section and came within a hair of looping out. He has ridden this section many times and was expecting the stock sign-off. This silencer clearly flows better and allowed the bike to pull harder further. We decided to go up a tooth on the rear sprocket to add a bit of low end balance (Vortex aluminum 57t - also much lighter than stock). This seemed to do the trick. Sound - well, this is not a "Q" silencer, but then it is not supposed to be. Dave at MRD said the Pro-Comp would be quieter than the regular end cap. Still, it is every bit as loud as stock and sounds every bit the race exhaust. Value - what can you say? Mated with the MRD torque header you essentially get a custom full system that flows way better than stock for a very reasonable price. Plus, I continue to be impressed with Dave's customer service. For those looking for an aftermarket exhaust, I highly recommend you give Dave a call or e-mail. |
