| Z50AK1 in Elsinore Hi all, glad to find PM. I finally got around to tearing down my 69 K1 today- figured i better make some friends at planetminis. Ive had my mini since i was 5- grabbed a handful of throttle and looped it my very first ride It was last registered here in california in 1984, its still got a black plate, so im hoping to be able to street it again. She is not pretty, but all the bolts have 8's on them and the tank isnt dented. i think the bike is complete, so hopefully i can spend less time on fleabay and more time building- ill likely not go crazy on the mods (i like the classic blue/silver k1). pics to follow, this is gonna be fun! |

| Re: Z50AK1 in Elsinore okay- heres those pics: ![]() ![]() three metric box-end wrenches and 45 minutes later: ![]() the mini came apart without any trouble, i didnt find any hidden damage. the tank looks hammered in the photo, but thats just the remnants of duct tape. ill start with stripping the frame and polishing all that chrome and aluminum. after seeing some nice examples on pm im starting to consider a flat black paint job- I KNOW i havent the skills for an OE paint job yet.maybe flat black and pinstripes... |
