Hello from N.E. Ohio

Hello all. Been lurking here for a while. Finally decided to post.

I had my first taste of pit bikes a few years ago when I decided
to buy my two kids 125cc China clones to teach them to ride.
I got them off ebay for $600 shipped to my door each. It took
less than a day to assemble and make them ready to ride. It
was Feb. here so I decided to wait until spring to get them out
and teach them how to ride. My son eleven at the time was a
natural. It didn't take him long to figure out how to use a clutch
and change gears. My daughter on the other hand lasted about
twenty minutes and decided she wanted nothing to do with it.

Here is a pic of the two bikes...

Well after having my tranny in my truck blow out I ended up
trading both of them for another vehicle. Sucks being a single
parent when it comes to money. Well I decided one day I will
get me another one as they are a blast to ride and a great
stress reliever when the kids get on my nerves.

When tax refund time came around I kept my eyes on the local
Graig's List and found a 110cc that a guy wanted $250 for. I
emailed and offered him $200 cash and he accepted. I drove to
his house in the middle of a snow storm at ten o'clock at night
to purchase the bike. It was pretty beat, but had potential.

Here is a pic of what I had to work with...

They have a event at the local fairgrounds that I plan to attend
this winter. The fairgrounds are less than five minutes away from
my house.

Here is a link to the event...
Summit Indoor Motocross - Home

I can't wait until winter. Well that's my story for now.

Re: Hello from N.E. Ohio

Well if you've been to SCFairgrounds then you have seen some of my Teammates pretty much dominate the Pro Pitbike Classes there, you should try and make it out to Carl's race this weekend even if it's just to watch, he got all the info on the thread about LCS(Lorain County Speedway), you'll get to see some fast local guys there and there is a kids class too.

Oh Yeah...Welcome to Planet Mini's

Re: Hello from N.E. Ohio

Nope, never been to the fairgrounds just found the site while searching online.
I've never raced anything before, just thought it looked like it would be fun.
I've only rode this thing in the back yard and some local trails that I know of.
I will check out the thread you suggest. Thanks for the info and the welcome.
