| Classifieds Sellers - Buyer and Seller Beware For those of you who sell in the classifieds, please update your profile so it reflects your location under your screen name. Additionally, when you post something for sale, include your email address so people can contact you outside of PM. If members take those two steps, the classifieds moderators won't have to lock threads until this information is given. To update your profile: On the left hand side of the page under the Quick links menu (not in the quick links menu, under it), you'll see an option for User CP. Click on User CP. Once you get into User CP, on the left side menu, you'll see a link to "Edit Profile". Click on it. Scroll down, and under the "Additional Information" heading, you'll see a box for the following: "Where you live" In this entry box, enter the city and state where you live. With the email address and your location, and posting an asking price, pics and description (if applicable), you won't get your posts locked. Location is important as people will be more likely to purchase items from local people and can estimate shipping costs. If you live outside of the USA, this factors into the buying decision as well. An email outside of the PM neighborhood also helps with fraudulent activity. Regards, Dan |

| After "attempting" to create a safe-haven for people to buy and sell parts in the classifieds, after numerous people either don't read or choose not to follow basic buying and selling guidelines as laid out by the PM ownership and moderation staff, PM has decided not to "actively" enforce the rules in place. "Actively" is the key word here. The PM Staff volunteers our time, and 90% of the moderation duties were locking and unlocking threads for members who choose not to abide by the forum guidelines. In summary, it was a big waste of our time and efforts. We still ask people to abide by the rules when buying and selling for seamless transactions and to protect themselves from fraudulent activity. Since we cannot control member transactions under a firm set of guidelines, we also won't be involved in any disputes between members buying and selling parts in the classifieds. What this means to you as a buyer or seller: If a member screws you on a transaction, PM is not responsible or obligated to help you resolve the situation. Buyer and Seller Beware. 90% of the people here are honest, but for the 10% that aren't, you'll have to deal with the mess on your own time and dime. Depending on the situation, we may ban members who partake in fraudulent activity, but this will depend on the situation. We will not provide IP addresses, email addresses or other contact information we have on file to help you resolve your matter. Buyer and seller beware. |
