USD fork in a ZB?

Hello, I have a ZB and a new NSR-mini to convert the ZB (as most people have done.)
I am now selling of the NSR parts I do not need and came across a person who wants to exchange a brand new USD (inverted forks) for my NSR fork.
The good part is than that I do not need triple trees for the NSR and can keep the normal steering.
But I am a bit worried about the clearance between 12" wheel and the 125cc engine cylinder head.
Has anyone got these usd forks on his ZB yet? The ones offered to me were ordered for a Z50 monkey.

I think it looks like this one....

Any specs on minimum length of the forks to work well with the 12" wheels?

Thanks in advance for your support.

I have not seen them yet.
The guy says he bought the whole set for 1100,- dollar to put on his monkey Z50 but lost interest as he now runs a nr 100 in races and wants my nsr forks.

That sounds like KSR forks and if you want custom I would go for it. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal for you.

Re: USD fork in a ZB?

I think it is a takegawa usd fork or a daytona usd.
they both make usd forks for the monkey.
sure hope it is the takegawa one.......that one looks cool.

Will make the deal tomorrow.......bring the nsr wheel and measure the length first!!!!

HEre is a Lifan 120cc base motor in a Skyteam with USD and 12" wheel. Fits in there perfectly and looks real nice.

That bike above is in full running condition and I've had it to about 75mph as well. I just stole the muffler off of it so I could ride my CT70 around. I have not bottomed out the forks either.

Now, granted, this is a china build through and through and shouldn't be confused with the high-dollar, high-quality aftermarket stuff, but it is a great bike for someone not looking to throw down a lot of money for a street legal mini.

Re: USD fork in a ZB?

The first picture is a faddybike USD fork with a faddybike frame.
check .: Faddybike-Deutschland :.
If the offer is a USD for a monkey the T-piece will fit but the legs are too short for a ZB.
The standard legsizes are: monkey 540mm, zb/pbr 570mm and dax 600mm.
(The T piece for dax will not fit, the steering pin is longer)

Re: USD fork in a ZB?

Sold the NSR tank today but did not get the USD fork.
I got a bit suspicious when the guy showed the single piston brake which "came" with the 1000,- dollar fork......ahaaa......no name on caliper or pump but hangshiliang or something similar on the brake hose.......smells like chine copyshop......
Further investigation showed no brand name anywhere on any of the fork parts.......HHHmmmmmm.........and the dimensions of the tree were similar to the NSR so NG-dess for ZB.

Sorry but I decided to keep the NSR forks for the moment......

Those were Thai USD forks from either Faddybike or Asian Concepts...

Not good...

Phewwwww..........good thing I kept my own stuff.

But the USD virus has been planted in my brain now.....the red monkey R looks very cool.......HHmm....
Think I will try my luck with monkeybike.co.uk to see if they are willing to trade in my NSR forks......

Re: USD fork in a ZB?

takegawa forks only come in 649mm, so besides being over priced (I'm guessing KSR forks), you get the added "chopper look"front end....

Monkey/ZB is 540mm stock and dax is 600mm... Faddy makes some 540mm and most other chinese or thai usd forks for sale are 600mm.

RS125 forks are sweet, but long 618mm....
