Chris...What is the problem wih the 100 cc motor? The GPX 160 will bolt in and is easily wired in too. You will need a lightnng coil for the motor to run lights.

Offset front triples unless you like stuffing the tire into the engine even with the longer 2004 NSR50 fork legs.

Good point about the coil Todd.

And Z is right about the triples. Got a mill so we can fab some up? I need to start another project too.

Chris, When are you going to honor us with a updated pic of your ZB?

peace,

the 100cc just struggles to do 68 mph i think a 160 will give me more torque and top end and im starting to have to budget and i cant keep up with all the other guys that i ride with

Ill just toss you a rope and pull you arround...... Anyone know how close the head will be to the tire with his set up? Doing the right tripples will cost more that the motor.

Re: thinking of a gpx160 in my zb? thoughts and help please

a buddy of mine has a yx150 stuffed into his stock chasis zb50.
another thing to think about is the clearance of the carb. you may have to cut up the intake and get it to fit.

and isn't the exhaust port angled differently? which will require bending the exhaust a little? i'd hate to see that nice exhuast of yours bent up.

i dont want to tweak that exhaust thats FO SHO the intake manifold doesnt bother me but how fast is your buddies zb with the 150 in it and does it hit the tire?

You can take the whole ignition and backing plate off your current engine. Some of the newer YX's have a Honda carb and exhaust arrangement, I hear. Stay on top of the clutch nut...

Maybe the Lifan 150, unless you plan on going a bunch bigger? Then you get an integral oil filter, easy clutch access, narrower right side of the motor, Honda compatability, more torque stock, etc

hit up topgasred. i don't think he had any issues with the front as it's a pure stock zb with a 150 motor. hell... he still has drum brakes!

not sure how fast but he doesn't have any problem keeping up with traffic.

Great looking bike!

Any of the bigger motors are going to move the exhaust port 9mm farther forward. Is the 100 stock? A 54mm jug and higher compression piston, some port work and a cam should add about 50% more power if it's a stocker.

its a 50 motor with a 50mm crank and 50mm bore and piston i want to say its a 70 cylinder cause its longer and the guy had to add a link or so to the cam chain its just hard to beat the power for the price with those yx motors for what i would spend on a crank, cylinder, etc i could just get a stock i50cc or 160cc and just bolt it in but im still up in the air on it

I still think the front end of your bike looks off. Do some basic upgrades to the motor and get yourself an offset tripple.

Your good price is still outta my reach .

The pics are nice, but do it no justice. The ZB is so much sweeter in person.

You will for sure need a set of triples with a bigger offset to fit that motor in there.
