how are you guys obaining titles? i have thought of buying one of the zb50 replica's instead of a new midsize to motard and make legal but keep coming accros this issue.

i know it varies from state to state but how are you guys doing it in your state?

Take it down to your local DMV, remove ALL name brand logos and so on. Then tell them you bought the parts and made a custom bike and would now like to make it legal with a title.

most states would require you to have reciepts for your parts an materials , and a bill of sale for the major components, my dad builds custom bikes and before he got his World Manufacturers Identifier number that was how he used to do it, they were then call special construction, Now they are manufactured and have brand new MSOs (Manufacturer Statment of Origin)He does the VIN#s and DOT stickers, They are much easier to plate and insure.

This is very true but a simple fix. Simply ask the guy whom your buying the bike from if he can give you a break down of the parts on the bike and make it look like you bought the parts sepretly.

Bingo, It would work like that here, They assign you a VIN tag and off you go, Only thing is not alot of insurance companies will do "home built"or special construction" the ones that do charge alot.

ahhh ok.i think i can get around to regisering it and titling it. but i guess that hard part is insurance huh?
