| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 Eddie, I might just skip on the electrolysis and see how just the POR15 works out. I want to focus some time on repairing the outside of the tank. I'm still trying to decide on what color to go with. Right now the pearl white (w/ a hint of blue) off the Lexus IS is in the lead. Quote:

| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 If you want custom cut front SS brake lines, contact mikebiked, the one who sells all of the slider parts for the NSR. He custom cut to length the ones I needed for my NSR since when I changed to the Brembo setup, the SS Galfer line ended up being a couple of inches too long. |

| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 If you are getting the rear swingarm painted or powdercoated get the rear shock lower mount rewelded in the correct location so it lines up and you won't have to run the upper offset adapter. I have an NSR swinger that this has been done so the shock lines up. tmas |

| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 I went to a bike shop that replaces all the brake lines for big bikes, they sold me everything I needed. I even brought the calipers with me to get the right angle fitting. If you order lines from speigler make sure your measurements are correct. tmas |

| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 Get a piece of rubber tubing about the same OD and mock it up. The hardware store will have the tubing. You can do the same to the rear, and then pick out the angles of the 10mm banjos you want. |

| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 So got around to working on the cosmetically challenged fork legs. I spent about 3hrs on one leg . I'm pretty happy with how it came out (its more shiny in person). Now I just have to finish the other one ![]() ![]() Since I sold the 3-spoke wheels, I picked up these bad boys (thanks gstegman): ![]() brand new in the box ![]() Last edited by big pete; 10-09-2008 at 10:19 AM. |

Lots of elbow grease. I sanded the top layer off with 220 grit. Once I got to the metal, I hit it with 400, then 800, and then 1500. After the 1500, I used Mother's metal polish to get it to shine. I wanted to use 1000 grit before the 1500 but the hardware store didn't have any. If I did, I'm sure it would have came out a bit smoother but I think I've spent enough time on it. | Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 Pete. It wasn't me who said the bike would look funny with the longer swingarm. ![]() It was the other guy with the G-Craft avatar 'Nielspbr' I just asked the "why are you selling the wheels" ![]() Anyone Have a ZB50 For Sale (US Only) see post #506 |

| Re: big pete's mini build #2 - ZB50 Ignore Nielspbr. I consider him the "Euro Seagull" member. He flys in, craps on everything and leaves without taking time to read the whole story before making comments. |
